I want to find some type of acid free boxes / containers for photos that I can store them in. I know they make albums, but so many turn of the century ( and into the 30's ) photos are in classic styled hardboard frames that I don't want to remove them. These are not frames like we think of today, rather a layered cardboard stock with etched designs and the fold over in 1/3s, which protects the photo, yet allows it to stand when opened. I undertand today's plastic bins are a no no. I have my photos sorted and organized on the dining room table, so I want to store them away now...... Any experience is appreciated. dl Last edited by deddlastt; 06-08-2011 at 08:37 PM. |

Thank you ww for the response. I looked online at both Michaels and Joann and didn't see anything (at least with the searches I did). The tin thing is an interesting idea. Ideally, I would like something stackable and that would maximize space, like squares or rectangles. There is a camara store in the next town, I think I will pop in when I go that way. dl |

I was given a plastic box for storing photos as a gift. It has smaller photo sized boxes inside to sort and store photos. I think it was bought at a Hobby Lobby store in their scrapbooking section. I am not sure about it being acid free but you could look up Hobby Lobby online if there is not a store near you.
