Its Official I am now a Grammie !

My 24 yr old son and his wife made me a Grammie to the first little girl born on my side of the family since I was born and on my ex-husbands side of the family since his sister was born in 1971.

She was born Last Thursday June 9th at 1:58 am, she was 19 ins long, 6lb 8.6 oz they named her Trinity Lorayne Jean .....

So my 12 yr old is now an Uncle, my ex is Pop-Pop.

All these years of being an "adopted" grammie I finally have my own to spoil, but it wont happen since son and wife are not speaking to me... they got mad at me when I told them they needed to grow up and stop couch hopping and blaming everyone for their problems it was time to be adults, get jobs and be stable for the sake of the baby and they did not like it too much blocked me from Facebook and email... I dont care I know this much I tried to help my son for a long time and after ex moved them from VA to FL into the house I still pay the mortgage on and they ran the bills up I had enough of being taken advantage of and told them to grow up.

I hope one day I will get to meet my Grand-daughter but if it doesnt happen so be it.

Congratulations! Babies are so precious!

Regardless of the current circumstances, it's still exciting to experience such a blessing. I'm happy for your new bundle of joy and hope relationships are mended soon for you to be in her life full time as it sounds like you long to be.

In the mean time GRANDMA, LOL! You can start a journal, tuck back some keepsake gifts that she'll appreciate when she's older and do a little investing on the side for her so she'll have a nice nest egg when she leaves for college. She will appreciate her Grammie for making sure she's an independent woman one day.

Again, so thrilled to hear your wonderful news!

Congratulations in spite of the events of the past. Have they made any attempt to change their ways? If not, you may be hearing from them sooner rather than later for help with the baby. If they need help, then you'll have your chance to see her. If they have made some changes, it might be time for you to approach them somehow and see if they are receptive to a truce. It's no fun being in a family that doesn't get along. I know, I'm there now. But in my case, I don't see a solution. In yours, the baby might help chance some attitudes. I hope you get to see her soon. For her sake as much as yours.

Thank you everyone... I am still adjusting to the title Grandma...I have a driver who works at the Auction where I work who comes by my cubby when I am working and starts seranading me with grandma songs,,,hes so sweet...he also hugs me every day he is an elderly gentleman and his wife drives to and they were never blessed with children and they are thrilled for me but like they said they may not have been blessed but they have 100s of adopted grandkids..

Son and wife are in Kansas living who knows where , I did not know she had went to KS to be with him, he left Florida to go back to VA where she had to go for a court date and lied ot us and went back to Kansas and she was only in Kansas a week when she had the baby !! I dont know how she was allowed to travel and we found out she was not getting any pre-natal care since March, I am praying the baby is healthy, he unblocked me from Facebook so I got to see pictures and she is the spitting image of her Daddy and her Uncles..

I fear that the state may get involved with them and take the baby its one of those feelings I am getting... I am in SC and I probably could be capable of taking her with some financial support but its taking all I can to work now and I am working through the Social Security Admins ticket to work program so that maybe I can get off Disability and work again like I love to do, its a struggle sometimes.. Ex has no income except for what I send and he is still waiting on his decision from Social Security he has been to the Admin Law Judge twice and they havve yet to make a decision even though the Social Security Doctors say he is disabled permanently.

Congratulations on the Grand Baby. Now, having said that, let me tell you how sad it is when families don't get along. It is always the little children that suffer. The most innocent in the mix.

It sounds to me like you would be able to get a mailing address for them, so I would be sure to still send cards, letters, and gifts. JMTCW.
