CSA's

Anna's thread about gardens made me remember about our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share. Does anyone else participate in a CSA? To find one near you click:

I haven't ever participated but I see them all over Eugene. They have flowers and veggies. You get a little plot and you can put what you like there.

We belonged to a meat one until recently. It was just too much meat for two people. Plus, it was mostly beef and pork. I tend to eat mostly chicken. We're going to see if we can find another one that will let us order less per month and maybe specify more of what we do/don't want. The meat at our old one was great, though, and I was happy to be able to see that the animals were raised in humane conditions.

As for fruits and veggies, there are a ton of farm stands and farmers' markets around us, so we buy our produce there.
