Weather Sensitivities

Does anyone here get migraines or other sensitivities to weather? I lived in Florida for a few years and had horrible migraines with hurricanes and was miserable when we had the storm bands with Katrina.

I hear a lot of people say their arthritis kicks up with fluctuating temps. What are your weather sensitivities and what works for you to combat those problems?

Arthritis here...I have no knowledge of when I am going to have a painfree day or the other kind. We were in Las Vegas in early May and AZ a bit later, hoping to see that the dry air would help....it didn't. Aleve is my drug of choice since I refuse to take opiates or drugs with a long list of contra indications

Never thought about it, but now that you mention it....I have had a lot more migraines lately, and the weather here has been bed. We are having a lot of rain.

I suffer from the grouchies when it's hot and humid. The only cure for me is AC. DH had central air installed years ago to save our marriage.

I have RA and have more problems in the winter.

I will get headaches in the Winter if I do not have a window cracked open next to me while the heater is on.

Dolly what is it about having a cracked window?

Freer if we are going to say grouchies when it is hot than I need to figure my grouchies that I get every morning but especially on Mondays. All I can muster is "Mmmmmmmmmm."

I think it has to do with the oxygen.Somehow when the heaters are on in the winter time and there are no windows open that I do not get enough oxygen. But as long as I have a window open I am headache free.

So it isn't just the humidity you get from opening the window?

I like the suggestion, I am going to have to try that in the winter.

I have been told the storms barometric can have a lot to do with the headaches and migraines. I can say I know when a bad storm is coming through. I will take meds and hope that will tide me over until the storm passes.

Red face

Most definitely ,while for me personally I have dealt with those horrible headaches a long time and now take prescription medication for them. For me keys factors bring on a migrane, stress, my period, skipping meals..However right now with this heat I hate literally hate the hot humid weather and I do experience more of them and they are worst in the heat. For me give me cold weather anytime.. Feel better I know all too well the pain....peace. Catherine

I get headaches when there are big barometric pressure changes. Not sure if they are migraines or not, but they are nasty.

I have a significant increase in joint pain when a cold front is moving into the area.

Have you had your furnace checked for leaks? And do you have a carbon monoxide detector in your house?

I ache when it gets cold. And we once spent a month in Mesa in June and I had headaches every day. I think if was the brightness of the light outside. I felt better inside. But it could have been the dry air I suppose.
