| Luxuries......??
The other thread about bottled water got me thinking about different people's "luxuries". I guess I would consider the following a "luxury", as that I certainly do not need it, and am willing to bet not many on here will say they "just gotta have them" My "luxury" is clear trash can liners for my bathroom trash cans, like in the hotels. I just do not like the look of a grocery bag in my can. what is your "luxury"?

| It is! I actually like Canes ice better, but they don't sell by the bag. My daughter works there and I keep telling her to talk them into it! We have cell phones, too and it is another luxury I like!

I have a few: - Going out to eat ~ once per week - cell phone - DSL - gym membership - netflix - Tickets to see ballet a few times/year I try to temper it a bit by: - Bringing lunch to work and not buying coffee on the way to work - Sharing one cell phone with my husband (pay as you go ~ $100/year) - Getting the $5/month netflix plan and no cable service - Buying a lot of things second-hand.

Jujubee sounds good to me, I also save tons of money with coupons, going to garage sales and goodwill stores, I also save the discount coupons for local restaurants if we choose to go out or take in......Peace. Catherine

Oh, can't forget the gym....I NEED that, though. I really feel awful when I don't go.

My true luxuries are the ones I find at garage sales and tag sales and the goodwill stores, and lately I have been going back to where I was born in Williamsburg Brooklyn, which has become very much like the village very shabby chic and they have there wonderful old vintage stores and the items are sooooo cheap, I picked up so many vintage skirts and dresses nothing more then 4.99 each and tons of shoes and braclets and pocketbooks, love all the old simple stuff and dirt cheap. I love finding old linens and old handkerchiefs that I use as dollies sp.. I love old fine china, the older the better and for just cheap prices......Those items bring such joy to my life, I guess I really am a old soul and proud to be one.........Peace. Catherine

I gave up all my luxuries with the exception of one...M&Ms. However, with the coupons that were just out for 75/2 single serve size and 50/1 sharing size, I was able to get myself enough bags to last me awhile.

SONIC®, America’s Drive-In® They have really great ice. It's small and round and makes a really great drink... Strange, but true. They sell the ice by the bag at the restaurant. My luxuries would be... My eyelashes - i get extensions and they are ridiculously expensive Eating out - much more than we should iphone - helpful for me when I run out of my house (which is where I work) to stay in touch, but certainly not a requirement Thickening shampoo - (about $11 for a small bottle)

I don't consider a cell phone a luxury I consider it a necessity. I guess luxury is relative. I only buy EEOO and many would consider that a luxury. I drive a 4 yr old car I purchased new some would consider that a luxury. We have DirectTV some would consider that a luxury. I guess what I consider luxuries: wine; DirectTV in the kitchen; fish for dinner almost every night; living in the country away from town and the troubles there; and it's a luxury to me to be able to pick my own work schedule and live a somewhat unrestricted life. After reading this thread I'll have to try the Sonic ice next time I go to WinCo (Sonic is across the street)

Not to mention the Sonics here are far enough away that I might have a melting problem before I could get it home. I'm going to pay more attention to their ice the next time I stop there.

Sonic ice is nice because it's.... well, is it shaved ice? It isn't in a chunk of a cube or anything. It scoops easily and is nice to crunch on because it's not hard. We don't have a Sonic anymore, but when we did it was cheap - $.99 / bag. When I was cooking for a large group and needed more ice than our ice maker could keep up with, I'd just buy a bag or two from Sonic because it was cheaper than what I could buy at the store. |

My one luxury would be strawberries. I have a quart on hand at all times. However, I prefer to have 2 or 3. It is almost starting to be a little compulsive and my family is starting to tease me about. OK they have for quite some time. lol It gets VERY expensive in the winter so I really cut back during the off season. But I HATE to be without them. It's very strange I know. Also DH and I had just gotten some new phones, the palm pixies. I lost mine and so my DD had a DroidX she was not using and gave it to me. I LOVE that phone. That is a luxury.....but so cool. But, I suppose "luxury" is in the eye of the beholder.

Dixie Paper plates so I don't have to do dishes or ask the kids to ![]() Yes, I just bought 3 packages of 100 count Plates at Wal-mart for 3.50 a package so for $10.50 I don't have to wash 300 plates worth of dirty dishes. LOL! ![]() That's 60 dinners worth of just "toss it in the trash" so I don't stand loading the dishwasher after the meal. What's the going price of sanity these days? ![]() X Funny thread!
