How do you and your significant other sleep?


My DH and I sleep on top of the comforter and each have our own blankets. We learned quickly after we got married we are both cover hogs and neither are sleep cuddlers. We are cuddlers otherwise, but not when sleeping.

I never thought much about it until the other day when a friend stopped by first thing in the morning to pick something up and I had not made the bed. She remarked how odd our sleeping arrangement looked. (judging from the way the bed was left when we got out of it) She is a sweetie and did not mean anything mean by it, just pointing it out, It did, however, get us wondering. Thought I would ask here!

We each have our own blanket and start off by also sharing the comforter. However, since I tend to always be cold I usually end up with all 3 blankets by the time we wake up.

Both of us are tummy sleepers so we get our cuddling done before we try to get some rest. 20 years of marital bliss means it works here!

My DH sleeps on his back and I sleep with my head on his chest and his arm around me. He pretty much stays like that all night. If I switch positions it's to stay in the same place but with my back to him and my head on his arm. There's enough room for another adult in our bed since we sleep so close LOL!! We sleep under the sheets and comforter and share them with no problems.

Well for starters we have a king size bed love it so much room. We also have a lot of pillows, and plenty of handmade and tag sale quilts only quilts. We also both love flannel sheets so comfy. We also especially me love in the summer the central air, the colder the better. In the winter we love to have the window open to feel the really cold air, while tucked under our quilts. But mostly we just love laying in each other's arms, or if one of us turns so does the other so we are always close to each other.........Peace......Catherine

When we are in the truck together.......we sleep very close. Very, very close. lol The bed is less than a twin.

I can't stand anyone touching me while I'm trying to sleep. That sounds terrible, doesn't it? DH wouldn't mind, but I get too hot. We sleep with it pretty cool in the house (around 72 with a ceiling fan on high over the bed). We would probably have it even cooler, but it's so stinkin' hot here in Texas that I'm trying to minimize our horrific electric bill. DH and I are both side sleepers. We lay in bed, watch the news, cuddle a bit if we want, give a kiss goodnight, then roll to our respective sides and go to sleep. That sounds kind of sad when I read it, but it totally works for us.

Bf and I sleep everywhere! When he sleeps on the couch,I will sleep in bed or in my computer chair .When I sleep on the couch he will sleep on the loveseat or bed or vice versa.Sometimes I will sleep on the bed and he will sleep on the floor.We rarely sleep together but when we do its usually when we are cuddled up together on the couch watching a movie and I will fall asleep in utter bliss. He's one of those "gets too hot" people so I don't get to cuddle with him very often.We both have our own blanket for wherever we fall asleep at.If I do get to sleep in bed with him,he is usually on top of the covers while I'm underneath until I tell him to get under the covers .

Newfunforme,I can totally understand the hot part, and that not to feel bad, there are plenty of woman who suffer so bad from hot flashes, so this could post a problem. Like I stated I definitely because of my hot flashes like it colder, the colder the better. Also there are some people who simply love to have the entire bed to themselves, which is truly not a issue, perhaps more of comfort. Also you would have to consider some people like a softer or more firm mattress, and for those issues, sleeping together could be a issue. I have heard of the sleep bed, it does look really comfortable, but I imagine it to be very expensive.. Peace.. Catherine

well....I sleep much better since I divorced! LoL

I don't know if I'll be able to sleep with another person now that I am use to sleeping alone.

Oops. I did mean to write the sleep number bed . Again it does look so comfortable and to be able to lift the bed up and down, all would ever want to leave their bed???. Peace.. Catherine

We had a sleep number bed and absolutely hated it. We got the one with the dual air chambers and felt like we had two twin beds pushed together, so we got the single air chamber. It was horrible. Anytime DH got up, I would sink and vice versa. We got rid of it about 2 months ago and couldn't be happier with our new normal mattress.
