Anyone on here from PA in the middle of the flooding, and how are you?

Is anyone on here in the middle of these floods here in PA?
Seeing the pictures of the flooding around my area from yesterday is just sad. I consider myself lucky, as I only had water in my basement. However, a block up the street from me was flooded out, and the street over was also flooded. The Green Dragon Flea Market was under water from what I saw/heard, and my sister in law told me that an 8 year old in the town over died in storm drain.
What I did not understand were the people in my neighborhood, who brought their children up to the flood waters and let them play in it as if they were at the beach.

The Green Dragon is under water? Dang! We lived in Berks Co, not far from there (Sinking Spring), for 5 years. We moved from there just shy of three years ago. I just checked *WFMZ: LOCAL NEWS & WEATHER FOR ALLENTOWN, PA AND EASTERN, PA as I had no idea they were getting hit so hard by the rains.

It sounds like you are very lucky to only have water in the basement. Wow!

I live in between Harrisburg and Pine Grove. We were blessed this time that our two pumps kept the water out our basement. All our neighbors had heavy water in their basement. We live at the foot of one mountain and it comes rushing down from there. This is the 3rd time this year that it washed out the road at the corner from us. It comes barreling out in front of our property in the gutter and most of the time it is so fast that it goes out over the gutter and down the hill in people's yards. Then it also brings down dirt and blocks the gutter. The borough and township have been talking for years about putting in pipes and fixing it, but it will never be done.
I knew the elderly man, slightly, that drown in his car at the end of Clarks valley. Pine Grove and Lebanon are real messes and alot of the roads are still closed here. These last couple rains have been really bad here, and I keep thinking how we still have Sept and Oct. to get through with hurricane season. I am praying we don't get any more rain till this sinks down through the ground more.

I was in Williamsport and although I only saw one bridge washed out, the local paper from that and surrounding areas showed much devastation. There were homes knocked from foundations, and much other damage. The regional airport was closed so I had to rent my vehicle in Philly and drive to and from the area. Even in that drive I saw nothing because the damage was in little communities off the main highways.
