My restless leg symptoms are due to my polymyositis. I don't have true restless leg syndrome.

I agree with trying to stay natural instead of taking prescriptions. I have a sample bottle of this: Nature's Inventory's Wellness Oils Essential Oil For Restless Legs - Essential Oil Therapy I haven't used it for restless legs, but have used it for other things and it seems to help From: Essential Oil For Restless Legs - Essential Oil Therapy There are several essential oils for restless legs that are remedial in nature and offer great relief on being applied to affected areas. Grape seed essential oil can give amazing results with its strong botanical constitution and splendid nature of absorbing well in the skin |

I've seen a lot lately that RLS is related to something in the veins. There are several doctors where I live that have promoted this theory and offer some medical service for it. DD has RLS. She takes requip .25 as needed. She has not needed it in quite some time, thankfully. Her dr. did tell us that the more you use, the more you will need. Has anything mentioned here helped?? Also, it tends to run in families.

I would think that trying a different class of drug might be more beneficial than trying the same class. I have had wicked success with relatively low dose Neurontin (and the generic is Gabapentin, and is pretty inexpensive). RLS is an off-label condition for Neurontin. The Drs. haven't figured out why it works for RLS, but it can. My legs don't "hurt", I just can't seem to get comfortable and feel like I have to keep moving them. My neurologist *thinks* because the muscles in my legs are constantly used, and the polymyositis affects the muscles, the nerves in my legs are always "on edge" (irritated), thus the Neurontin calms the nerves down. Might be something to discuss with your MD....
