Anyone set their Christmas Budget yet? 88 days til!

Getting a head start on the October 1st chore here... LOL!

I'm looking for forecasting not an actual dollar amount here.

More

Same

Less

I'm thinking we're just gonna spend the same amount as last year. Nothing has really changed in the past 9 months as far as major "wants" go for the kids. They don't ask for much and share between the three if there is something big they could all use.
I've put a few things back for little 5-10 dollar toss ins but haven't really given any thought to the bigger plan.

We try and be completely done with the kids stuff by Black Friday so we can just shop that day for fun bargains. That's the reason for the October 1st start date for us here.

What do ya'll have in mind for this year?

Way less here. my boyfriend has been out of work for almost 11 months, and his unemployment ran out so we are down to one income.

We will be getting our Christmas club money at the first part of Oct.
Out of that money we pay our personal property tax bill and most of the rest goes to Christmas shopping.
Even though we increased the money going into our Christmas Club this year..we are planning on spending around the "same" amount on Christmas this year.

Maybe more this year. We are dairy farmers and the milk price is up so we made more money this year.

About the same here. Kids are older and don't really want or need anything.
For hubby & me, we are redoing the bathroom because of a roof leek and cracked tub. That's our present to each other.

I may actually get by with less this year as I have been doing some SERIOUS Clearance shopping. I have bags of Christmas and Birthday stuff stuck in every room in the house.

Most all the Birthday's in my family fall from September thru March, so with Christmas in the middle that makes for a busy and expensive several months.

We'll be sure and tell him you said that! LOL!
Congrats on that good fortune!

Hey Groovy, what did you end up getting the "hardest person to buy for" on your list this year?
Good job on the being done! When my kids were smaller I was a year round shopper to be ahead of the game but in the past three years have just waited til October or so.

I just haven't seen or heard of any Wowwy Ka-zowwy knock ya down gotta have must have items for this upcoming season. Usually by now, manufacturers are trying to build hype for the fake "limited stock" sales gimmick that seems to happen each year.

The hardest on my list is a three way tie....my Mom, my older daughter(she is dating a billionaire and has everything, and my son.

I got my Mom an ipod for her car, my daughter some various pearl jewelry, and some what-nots, and my son a leather computer chair and some LSU stuff for his bed. The two "children" are in their 20's and super hard to buy for.

You can add me to the list if you start feeling the need to purchase just one more gift between now and the season!

Sounds like you came up with great gifts. I have to agree that moms are sometimes hard to buy for. Mine has everything she needs and buys for herself whenever there is a want so we have to get creative when it comes to her.
In fact, I don't have a clue yet what I should do for her.... hummm.... Anything in the $50 dollar range? DH and I do that then each of the three kids pick something (usually around the 25.00 dollar range) for her but they shop and choose something themselves.

We usually travel together sometime during the holidays so we don't do mega gifts on that side of the family just an easy "hey, we love you" since we buy for so many in that direction.

Any help would be appreciated and I'd love to knock that one off the list first.

Lol, that is what will probably happen....I will buy some more stuff when the urge hits.

I forgot to mention that I got all the girls/ladies a diamond candle top go along with their other gifts. They are so much fun(you get a ring valued at between $10 and $5000 in each candle) and they smell wonderful!
