restless leg meds

Sorry to start another thread but I could only see 10 threads this morning. Are they changing things on the board?

Someone asked about requip the medicine for restless legs. I have been taking it for about a year. I take 1mg about 4:00 or 5:00 pm. It says to take it an hour before bed but I have problems in the early evening. Someone mentioned that they read that it has something to do with vein problems. I have also read that people with vericous veins have problems with restless legs. I started developing veins at 15. I have had 4 operations to remove vercious veins but I still have large ones. I remember a few years back that I mentioned about my operations and someone wrote back that I was only thinking about the way my legs looked.
This is a medical condition. My ankles are black and blue looking from smaller veins that can't be removed. Now I have restless leg which causes other problems. Requip has helped a lot. It also comes in generic.

Someone mentioned Neurotin as a med. It is used to calm nerves and to lessen seizures. Many seizure meds as used for other neuological problems.

I am read 52. My computer crashed so my husband gave me his computer. I could not login with my password. I tried having a new one sent to me but it never came to my e-mail. I wrote to mycoupons but have not got a response. So I rejoined under my husband's e-mail.

Yep...a side effect of polymyositis is nerve pain. Neurontin is non-narcotic, and allows the nerves in my legs to "shut down" enough that I can sleep and rest.

My husband got viral encephelitis from shingles almost 7 years ago. He was on neurontin for a while but then they put him on zonegran which helped more. He has headaches so severe that he would have seizures. Two years ago his neurologist suggested botox which has helped the best out all the meds he took.
The FDA approved it last fall for headaches and now our insurance is paying for it.
