oops I made an extreme couponer mad..LOL

While at Shoprite this morning, I noticed two elderly women telling this other woman that she should leave some M&Ms for other customers. The woman then turned to the older women and told them "you should have gotten here first. i am not going to give up getting bags of candy for 87 cents" I noticed that the woman had three carts full of items that were on sale, and she was pulling coupons off of the fun sized bags of M&Ms and then seperating the candy from the m&m display between 3 carts. After the women walked away, i asked if they wanted the plain or peanut m&ms, and they said they didn't care, they each just wanted 2 bags and they didn't care if the "hoarder" (as the one old lady called the woman) kept the coupons. So as she was peeling coupons and throwing bags into the carts, I grabbed 4 bags out of a cart and walked away. As i was walking towards the women with their candy, the hoarder woman asked me where I found them and I said "Oh in that cart of returns over there " she said oh that is one of my orders. I said yeah but they have limits here so by the time you get to the register, it will be a return cart. We walked away and she began mumbling to herself. The two women and I then ran into a man stocking some cereal on the shelf and told him about the hoarder woman (I love that name lol) and he then told us he would take care of it. After getting what I needed, and was heading towards the registers, i noticed that the guy we spoke to along with 3 other store personel were talking to the woman and all she was doing was yelling "why can't I do 5 or 6 seperate orders. I saw them do this on tv. i am going to email corporate" So once again I just had to interfere and I had a copy of their coupon policy in my binder, so I brought it over to the guy I spoke with and said here is a copy of the coupon policy incase she wants to read it before arguing with you any further.
Now I know some people may think what I did was wrong, and I normally don't do things like that, but the way the woman spoke to the elderly women just upset me for some reason, and IMO i think people who watch that stupid show and then decide that they are going to try it to, are ruining it for those of us that coupon to survive. I will admit, yes I have a small candy stockpile, but I got mine by following the guidelines at the store, limit of 4 like coupons and only one order at a time.

has anyone else ever encountered one of these rude extreme couponers?

No I have never seen a couponer like that. But good for you! I get so mad when I want to use my 1 or 2 coupons and the shelves are bare of whatever was on sale. I'm glad you stuck up for those ladies.

I think you absolutely did the right thing and shame on her for her greed and nastiness.

I loved shopping at Shop-Rite. They always gave overage on the coupons. I made out like a bandit, years ago, with the Electrasol, Dasani Water, and Soup-to-go.

That was AWESOME!! There is NO WAY someone needs all that candy. Granted, people can do what they want in that regard. But unless that store is run for HER personal convenience, that's just plain nonsense.

If she was doing it to give away to non-profit organizations or families who might need (I don't consider "candy" a "need", but whatever), she should have no problem whatsoever following the stores rules.

I know sometimes people use that excuse, they're doing for charity, but that doesn't matter. Unless an individual is named "Ambassador for the Needy" - follow the damn rules!

You ROCK, OP!

I like it. Nice job!

I was also pretty gratified to see something on ebay last night. There is a Missoni for Target dress that I really like. Of course, people bought up all of the Missoni clothes in record time and lots of them are listed on ebay. A lot of those don't have any bids on them either. It would serve them right to get stuck with a lot of clothes they can't use or have to sell them at the price they paid or lower. I went in at noon that first day and all of the adult clothes were gone. I read that people had 2 or 3 carts loaded with them.
