I don't discuss politics, BUT.....I will love reading any thread and not seeing the cry baby stuff going on. Is this just temporary, though?

Who knows. It seems that whatever is going on may be pretty serious, so she may be on a break for a while anyway. You may just find the political discussions interesting and informative!! At any rate there are plenty of other things to talk about!! While I know it is interesting, what is going on with you know who, and I've ahem, enjoyed some of it....hasn't she gotten enough attention??

All the election stuff makes me sad and angry. I guess I'm so cynical about the whole thing because I truly believe deep down in my heart and soul that by the time someone gets to the point of running for President and actually being a viable candidate, they are already so deep in "the game" that they're not going to really change anything in a way that will truly improve the state of the country nor do they care about the everyday issues of "regular working people". By the time they get that far they have to have the "approval" of those in power or they'd never make it that far. Most of them have been so very rich for so very long or so removed from the kids of issues that people face every day that they really don't have any idea what life is like for real people living real lives.

I'm the opposite, Anna - I really don't care if they know what it's like for 'regular Americans'. I don't want them to do much of anything for me but provide a framework - roads, a military, etc.. Otherwise... I hope never to hear from Uncle Sam! :-)

I am pretty cynical about the whole process as well, but agree with wow. Just get in office, worry about the big things and I truly believe Americans will eventually take care of themselves and start looking after one another more!! Government do government stuff.......people do people stuff!! I was lucky enough to see Sarah Palin just days after she announced she would not be running. She did not speak much politically because it was a women's conference..but she was amazing. She said she had received some not so nice emails from those of her supporters that wanted her to run. She wondered why, if they trusted her to run for President, did they not also trust her wisdom in not running? She really felt it was not the thing for her and her family right now. She was funny and interesting....and beautiful!! And she had the most AMAZING shoes on!!

| Mass. bashers take note: Health reform is working - The Boston Globe According to Robert Blendon of the Harvard School of Public Health and the Kennedy School of Government, the law’s approval rating in June 2008 was 69 percent. I wonder whether Mitt will crow about his involvement in this now ...

Not so sure about Mitt. I was interested in him as a candidate at first, but less so now. Actually, I'm not thrilled about any of them. Not a good sign for the Republicans...cause I don't think I'm alone in feeling that way.

I just wanted to be more clear on what I mean. I don't want the government to be involved in or to regulate every aspect of anyone's life. I just feel that if they were in more touch with the real world the agencies they run wouldn't be so inefficient, over bloated, and they would run logically like a real business not a bureaucracy. I don't see anyone anywhere that I would want to be President. I guess the Democrats don't look like they're even considering anyone other than Obama and none of the Republicans look good to me. So here I go again voting for the person I perceive to be the lesser evil, the one who I think will slow this descent into hell the most.
