Christmas Decorations?

I am having surgery in 2 weeks and will be on a modified bed rest. In my alone time that I can be up I would like to make things festive.

We have all of the following:
Christmas tree
Santa with moving light
garland with colored lights that are draped on the stair well.
Christmas ball ornaments in a vase
Hanging little ornaments over the dining table
Stockings

Would love to get other ideas! Thanks

Good luck on bedrest! You're so good to be thinking ahead - especially for making your house look festive for the holidays. I hope your festive surroundings speed up your recovery, and make everything easier to deal with!

I think you're in good shape regarding your holiday decor! Don't forget to hang some string for all of your incoming holiday cards as well as get well cards. It would be nice to have something already set up to display whatever comes in.

Thats a good thought! I went to dollar store and got some garland to wrap around the bottom of the hanging kitchen light and put ornaments there too. Wonder about bedrooms, any decorate bedrooms? Since most of bed rest time I will more than likely be cozy in bed.

I hope you have a speedy recovery You asked about bedrooms, I put a little table top tree in mine with white lights and some small red and silver balls. Next to the tree I have a small stuffed santa and reindeer.

I always put a small tree (maybe 4 feet high) in the bedroom. We have a sliding glass door that faces the street. I don't decorate it, but it looks nice from outside at night. Also, I love decorating the bathrooms. Nothing much, but some lighted garland and decorations on the vanity.

Sheripie, I would definitely cheer up the bedroom with more Christmas-y stuff if I was on bed rest. Good luck!

In your situation, I say it would be a good idea to start putting Christmas decorations.
Anyone else...........QUITE premature! Good idea to put a small Christmas tree in your room.
Wishing you a quick recovery!

Sherpie I hope you have a speedy recovery! I always put a small pink tree in my dining room and my bedroom. I picked them up after the holiday on clearance a few years back. It already has lights on it and you can put other things up but don't have to. I would also suggest garland and lights around your bedroom window. A bright cheery red or green blanket/spread on the bed would be festive.
And of course you need to tune your radio to whichever station is playing holiday songs! Maybe some cinnamon/holiday potpourri or some scented pine cones (which the kids can make for you

I wish you a Merry Christmas!

Do you have any Christmas dvds? What about any Christmas scented candles? I always enjoy lighting the candles, watching a Christmas dvd while having some white hot choolate and cookies. I have a few boxes of the red berry and cedar tea lights from Yankee candle if you would like a box, I'd be more than happy to send it to you.

I am now trying to find a red quilt or throw for the bed. I got a clear vase and put christmas lights in it and turned it on. I am thinking about hanging ornaments with fishing wire throughout the room. Maybe some red bows on the back of the french doors to look like a present. I hadn't though of candles but that sounds brilliant. I have already started dvring the hallmark christmas chick flicks.

You guys have had great ideas!!! Wow! I am hoping surgery will be a quick recovery and that I will be feeling much better from it.

Thanks!!!
