It's not even Thanksgiving and it has started already..Christmas cards

I can't believe I got not one but 2 Christmas cards in the mail yesterday. Is it just me or is it a little too early to be sending cards. I normally send mine the Monday after Thanksgiving. When do you send your cards? and please tell me I am not the only one who is getting cards already

Yep, it's too early for cards! I haven't gotten any cards yet...

But the neighbors lit up their outside lights last week/over the weekend. There are so many lights that we jokingly refer to our street as a "landing strip for Jesus"

No cards here yet. And, yes, I think it's way to early. I like to get mine ready over Thanksgiving weekend and send them out any time after that.

No! I haven't received any, yet!

I always mail my out-of-state cards on Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the rest on Wednesday! They are all stamped, addressed and ready to roll!!

Wow. Never heard of Christmas cards being sent that early. For me, I would think it a bit obnoxious if I received one that early. I say at least a week after Thanksgiving, then I can look forward to seeing them in the mail.

I don't have a problem with the timing one way or another. It is entering the holiday season and the holiday cards represent that. It is a positive gesture of peace and goodwill....so I think quibbling over when they are sent is a bit petty

I agree in part...I just wish Thanksgiving could be given a little more weight and observance

It is funny, now that you mention it, how little "space" in retail Thanksgiving items are given..... the amount of Halloween decor almost equals that of Christmas, yet outside some tablecloths, serving dishes and napkins, there is not much on the shelves for TG.
I am guessing that TG is considered a family holiday and it is given "weight and observance" within individual homes and families..... people travel home for TG so it is the largest travel day of the year. Maybe those personal celebrations are the really important ones.
