Restaurant discounts for Wedding Anniversaries?

Hi! I am in PA. Since my 40th is coming up in 2 weeks, it got me to thinking. Does anyone know of any restaurant chains in PA that give discounts for anniversaries? I know of one or two that do give for Birthdays, but none for anniversaries. Being cheap, and money is tight, I will probably just do a nice dinner at home with candles, but if I got a nice discount, I might go out. I dream of not cooking and no dishes-LOL!

We just had our 45th and we had a few bogo's but I can't remember where. It comes a few weeks after my birthday for which I get more than a dozen bogo's and it all just runs into each other. If you have some favorite places you might just check out their websites and sign up and see what happens. I don't know if you have Houlihan's there, but it's seems like that might have been one. Some local restaurants gave me some nice ones as well, so check them out also. We got one at a local French place that was a free entree, and their entrees start at about $23. There are lots of birthday ones available. There's a link on slickdeals.com in the free forum that lists a lot of free birthday meals. I have this link as well

First off , many congratulations on celebrating your 40th wedding anniversary in this times, 40 years together is a truly awesome thing.

I have only been to the area of Lancaster a couple of times, I know that the Amish food is excellent and plentiful. If I remember there is also some Denny's around there, are there any Denny's you?. Perhaps they would offer a discount to celebrate your landmark wedding anniversary.

I hope you may find someplace that will work for you and your husband and family good luck.

Wildwood, thanks for the link, and thanks for all the replys. I don't think like I used to-lol. I have a friend with an entertainment book and I will ask to look through it for a bogo that she doesn't want. I have heard of Houlihan's. If there is one near, it might be in Harrisburg. Our closest Denny's is in Lancaster. I love Lancaster! When I saw your name online, it reminds me of Wildwood, nj. Used to go there once a year for a few day's vacation, but haven't been there in years.

What about signing up for restaurant chains and family owned restaurants in your area online? For our anniversary in August I got a $25 gc from Maggianos and then a locally owned restaurant we received a $15 gc. Worth looking them up!

Well I'm the queen of cheap. I sign up for all the restaurant clubs.

I live in Wildwood, Mo. St. Louis suburbs, far from NJ. Husband grew up in NJ so we've been there a lot over our early years, but not many of his family are still in that area. Hope you find something great for your big day.

I really like that statement queen of cheap, never heard it before. However that would best describe me as well.

We almost never eat out without a coupon and we eat out several times a week. The one place we eat a lot that never has coupons is St. Louis Bread Co. also known as Panera. We both like it and that is one of the few that we go to without a discount, but even with that I have a Panera card and sometimes get free pastries or sodas when my points get high enough.

Another place we frequent without coupons is a local dive that has $2 Tuesdays. Well drinks, beer, wine, 1/3 lb. burgers, huge basket of fries, 1/2 lb. wings. Each $2. And the burgers are great. We each get a drink, burger and share fries and the bill is $10. Can't beat it. Missed this week because of the need to eat leftover turkey, but next Tuesday that's where we will be at some point.

Robin, first off, Congratulations on your 40th anniversary have you tried the Shady Maple? I know they do birthdays, but I am not sure of anniversaries, I know a few times I've been there they have had private anniversary parties, so maybe they do give a discount? Another may be the Hershey farms restaraunt, I know when I signed up for their discount card the server told me that they send special discouts out for special occasions. Sorry I can't be much more help, I just moved here less than a year ago, so I am still not too sure of where anything is.

Yes, Shady Maple is our favorite place to go. We make it a point to get there for our birthdays and usually go once in the summer too. They don't do discounts for Anniversary's, as I asked. I know they have party's there. They might give for several in a party. I have never been to Hershey Farms. We just got an email coupon for a cake at Miller's Smorgasbord, but: 1. You can't use two coupons there, like 1 for money off dinner and free cake. 2. Their price is very high, even with coupon. I think for the food, it sure isn't worth the price. We still haven't decided what we are going to do. I am the type, I would just rather him decide, but he wants me to pick!

My parents recently back in October celebrated 56 years of being married. It seems like they have been married forever.

I always ask my mom and dad what is the secret, to which they always reply even though they have been married for 56 years, never ever take your marriage for granted. Also if you have a fight , which they do sometimes, talk it out, work it out and move on. However the most important thing they have always told me and my siblings in addition to loving your spouse, you must also like them as well.

Some really sound and great advice I try very hard to add into my own marriage.

I have purchased restaurant deals from this place before:

Best Deals and Discounts on the Best Local Restaurants – Save Money on Food with Restaurant.com

They just don't offer a ton of restaurants in my area but hopefully your area might be represented. They are a legitimate company that has been around for awhile. After you pay, you can print out the discount. Read the fine print for dates and times before you buy.

I hope this isn't posted too late. Happy Anniversary!!! :-)
