Stocking stuffers for adults - what are you finding?

This is always the hardest part for me. My son and his gf are 26. So far, other than candy, I have:

  • Cinnamon toothpicks that come in a festive container (Michaels)
  • Pink Pen w/a flower and jewel on top (Pier 1)
  • mini photo album w/bling (Pier 1)
  • Paper soap (this is the best one - scented soap paper for around $1 at Pier 1)
  • Photo frame (kirklands)
  • Scented sachets for drawers (Pier 1)
  • pot scraper - purple w/decoration (Pier 1)
[list]

How is everyone else doing w/this task?

I have put in reusable coffee mugs, small flashlights(these days the mini ones come with flowers, etc handy for the purse), packets of instant flavored coffee or cocoa, pocket knife, hand lotion, notepads, socks, a wallet or coin purse, if they hunt of fish pocket hand warmers (DH is a fisherman and never has enough of these), a small game (I gave DH one where you say a word and then the little game asks you ?s to narrow it down and it's fun) if they work at place with key cards a lanyard with their favorite sport team or a pretty picture, small joke or devotional book, fancy pen, batteries for what needs them, that's all I can remember off the top of my head right now.

Every single year since the kids were small I've given useful and practical gifts. This year I decided after talking to a friend of mine from high school that I would do some funny stuff. My oldest son loved Power Rangers when he was a kid. I found a book in the Dollar Tree with them. He loves to do practical jokes on people...still...so I got two of them...One is red nail polish that looks spilled...He's going to play that one on my parents at Christmas. I'm sure my Mom is NOT going to think that's funny. I got him a CD with Hawaiian music on it since he was born in Hawaii. My husbands name is Bob and the kids put SpongeBob into the caller thing on the phone. I got him a SpongeBob washcloth. My youngest son is taking aviation lessons to get his pilots license so I found some little airplanes that you shoot out of this thing and they fly. My daughter liked Sleeping Beauty so I found a puzzle with her. I also got them candy, gum, and some other useful stuff. I tried not to waste money so I think some of the stuff will be used. It should be different and fun.

@ ThinkGeek :: Stuff for Smart Masses

I got: Bacon gummies for my oldest, a couple of tshirts (a Zombie one and one from Left 4 Dead).

A plush zombie monkey doll for the youngest, and a couple of other things I can't remember.

Boyfriend loves Pixie Sticks, and he is a caffeine junkie--thinkgeek has "Nixie Sticks" which are caffeinated Pixie Sticks. Got him a tshirt that says "Shut up and reboot already" (he's the IT guy)

Various other odds and ends. The boys went with me to buy toys for boyfriend's grandbabies. We got one a "furreal" kitten. Those silly boys absolutely played with it until I MADE them stop. So, I went back and got each of the boys one (the boys are 12 & 14--if they enjoy playing w/ the furreal pets, you betcha' I'll get them one) Only candy they are getting (from me) is a filled-candy cane(the plastic ones), one w/ laffy taffy, the other w/ jolly ranchers. I'm sure there are other stuff that I've forgotten about (yeah, had my shopping done by 1st of November)....

Mostly peanuts, the cheap filler

I found Toblerone free after coupons at the Kroger affiliate here, so everyone gets a couple, if DH hasn't found the stash and eaten them yet. I also got some chocolate oranges and candy, then it's going to be little fun toys I found while cleaning out the basement a few weeks back. We'll see if they remember any of them

That is a local credit union in Massachusetts. Also a local supermarket carries them here at a good discount you are a member of their cost saving program.I know that Costco carries a 2 pack here for $15. Maybe you are near a Costco?

I bought my DH a set of cell phone earbuds. He likes to watch videos on his phone and this will make is more peaceful for all of us LOL I have a camo hat with LED lights built into the bill. Each a new OralB Pulsar toothbrush. A pearl headband will be in DD's stocking. DD's stocking will also have lipgloss and mood nail polish along with a couple bookmarks. Oh, and some clear mascara for her to get the hang of applying it. I also have whole coffee beans in DH's stocking since he's getting a Cuisinart coffee maker with a grinder for Christmas. We've never had a coffee grinder and I want him to be able to try it out Christmas morning. Oh, and more reading glasses for DH too. I went with unusual (for us anyway) but practical.
