A Public Policy Polling survey released on Tuesday found Colbert is polling ahead of former Utah governor Jon Huntsman in South Carolina. According to the survey, Colbert has 5% of the vote and Huntsman has 4%.

If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition, and then admit that we just don't want to do it.

This shows the sad state of things on two fronts: first that the choice of candidates is so pitiful and second that a comic can get more attention and look better to many people than a candidate.
On the other hand it's always good to laugh at the jesters even when they don't realize that they are one big comedy.

I might vote for him. He's a smart man. It might be a nice change of pace to have someone who can make you laugh instead of cry.
