| Vacuum cleaner question
Do any of you have a vacuum cleaner you really like? A part broke on mine and it's old enough I don't think I will have it repaired. We only have 2 small carpeted areas, the rest is hardwood. I usually use the hose part to get cobwebs. I've had a tank style a long time ago and most recently an upright. Any advice would be apprecriated

Dyson, by far. Works great, no issues at all. Easy to empty the canister. I personally bought it because it wasn't heavy - I could no longer use my old vacuum since it was so heavy. They are expensive but I plan on owning it for a LONG time!

I got my Dyson today. I sadly have to report that while it looks like I great vac, I cant really tell. My hubby vac'd the whole house and I never even got to touch the darn thing. I have to say if I knew that it would have this effect, I would have bought it sooner!!! It sucked up at least 2 times the amount my old vac did and was actually probably closer to 3x the amount of dirt. I love the handle with the hose in it... very handy. Hope this helps someone looking for a vac, Darlene |

I have had a Dyson for almost 2 years and love it. It beats the pants off of the Hoover Wind Tunnel that I used to have. My Dyson was expensive up front, but I have already saved a ton since I don't have to buy new hepa filters anymore (or bags). I have a dog who sheds terribly and I was having to change the hepa filter on my Hoover Wind Tunnel at least once every 2-3 months because it would start to stink like my dog and they are not cheap (I would even rinse my old hepa filter after almost every time I vacuumed and it would still stink). I even had my old Hoover professionally serviced and cleaned and it stunk again after vacuuming with it again only a couple of times. My Hoover was only 2 years old when I decided to replace it and it was the best decision I made. I don't have that problem at all with my Dyson! And, the best thing about my Dyson is that DH does almost all of the vacuuming now since he can empty the dust bin without making a complete mess! With our old Hoover, we had to empty the dust bin 2-3 times while vacuuming the whole house, with the Dyson we just empty it one time when we are finished vacuuming. I forgot to mention that the suction is great too. I absolutely love it! chettasmom - I know Dyson's are expensive, but my Dyson has literally paid for itself in the amount we have saved since we don't have to purchase a new hepa filter every 2-3 months anymore for our old Hoover. Plus, did I mention that DH now does all the vacuuming! LOL That alone makes it worth it for me! We got a good deal on eBay for ours and bought it brand new, not refurbished.
