Exclamation Am I the only Mom who really dislikes sleepovers?

Maybe it's because I have three boys, and it's a totally different dynamic - but I really do not like sleepovers. I don't care for my boys sleeping over anyone's house, and I don't care to have my boys invite others to sleep here. It's 12:30am, and I am exhausted but they are still going strong. Matt agreed to let me go to bed and monitor the boys, but still.....

I like my house to start calming down, baths done by 9pm, everyone settling in for TV and sleepy time shortly after.

I feel like I am being unfair, and it could be because we had a busy Thanksgiving - plus for the first time the school system here let the kids off Wednesday, Thursday, Friday for Thanksgiving week. I'm just exhausted

P.S. - great to have this forum again!

I dont really like them if there is more then one child sleeping over, and depending on what child it is I may not even like it then. My DD had a birthday party sleepover this last year and I woke up at 3:30 in the morning to girls bursting out in laughter. I had enough and made them go to sleep.

HIYA CATT LONG TIME NO SEE !!
I dont mind sleep overs as long as it's at my home. I dont trust anyone well enough to really let my Christine ( age 10 ) go. Now I have at times, But it was REALLLLLYYY hard to do it.
Christine loves and would have sleep overs each weekend if I allowed her to do so, But hehe it's usually only a time or 2 per year.

I only let my kids do sleep overs with their cousins so it isn't bad at all. They are allowed to stay up a little later than normal but they all go to bed when I say. I also know what you mean about being tired this weel--my kids get the entire week off.

I don't like my kids going to other people's houses, but I don't mind sleepover's at my house. That way I know exactly what is going on, and I make the kids go to bed by 10p! :O)

I don't really like sleepovers either. My son will not spend the night at anybody's house anyway. Kids around here sometimes have combination parties-the regular party will be from 4-6 p.m. and after that, kids who want to stay for the sleepover do. I have found that the boys' parties are too rambunctious, and my son will stay only for the first half of the party. On the other hand, my daughter enjoys sleepover parties but I am very selective about where she can stay. It has to be somebody that I know well and trust, and there can't be too many children.

I really dislike them too.....It makes me feel bad but I have three kids and we are always on the run, so when its a weekend or we have some down time..I just want to rest!!!! I do let the girls have sleepovers sometimes though, because I would rather my girls be here than at someone else's house...I just grin and bear it!!! What really gets me is when my kids ask me if someone can spend the night...and that someone or their parent is standing right there!!!! That drives me crazy...I have told my kids not to put me on the spot like that but sometimes they forget Sherri

Just wait till they are teenagers and one comes home from a foot ball game or something like that and brings 6-8 others with her! I have woke up at 4 am and found 8 girls in the living room watching tv and eating. but at least they are here and not out on the street or somewhere they shouldnt be. now our daughter is in college and she comes home on the weekends and all her buddies flock to here . but they are all good kids and all try to keep it down cause they know us old folks have to have our sleep. i just make sure there is plenty of junk food here befoe the weekend.

Hate sleepovers when they are under 13. After that they pretty much keep to themselves with no entertaining on my part. My oldest is 16 and all of his buddies know better than to wake me up. They know I am ugly in the morning and they know where the fridge is if they are hungry...so it is all good!
