Smile Lets do something nice to get in the holiday spirit.

Ok this might sound cheesy but oh well, let's all do something nice for someone every day for the next week, I mean just go out of your way and do something or say something nice and then after you do it write it down and then come back here and post about it. If you give a dollar to the salvation army I want to hear about it. It doesn't matter how big or small but just try to lighten someone elses day.

Who knows we might decide that we like it and continue to make this a habit on a day to day basis.

We did secret santas back a long time ago. But it was so much fun. Does anyone else remember this?

Do we have to wait till next year for Secret Santas? I'm not able to be an organizer of things (due to my health) but I would love to participate if somebody else organizes!!

I sent my sister a surprise birthday gift today. She won't be expecting it at all as we usually don't exchange birthday gifts. Does that count?

I like the idea of daily acts of kindness. I think it will truly help with my holiday spirit - I want to stop perseverating on all the Christmas shopping I put on myself!

I'm in search of my first mission...

I did it!!! I just gave a co-worker a plastic canvas pattern book and some sheets of plastic. Working on tomorrow's kindness.

I picked up one of my sons classmates from school so he could get extra help. His mom had to work.

I gave my neighbor makeup, that I picked up on sale at Target, so she could give it to Love in Action a group at her church that helps foster children. Plus I gave a holiday candle for her and an angel for her tree.

I collected 450.00 for the meals on wheels program here today.
I took groceries to a client who does not have money to buy them since he had to pay 985.00 for oil to heat with . he found them on the porch. no clue it was me.

Gave the woman behind me in BB&W my free wallflower coupon, she didn't have a coupon and was buying something over $10. It seemed like a sin to waste the coupon because I can't use it!

Today I had four boys (I call them boys but they're in their 20's) helping my son put a motor in his car. I knew they were hungry so I fired up the grill and made all of them hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings. They were so excited. Obviously, they haven't had home-grilled hamburgers in a long time because they kept telling my son how cool his mom was and they were telling me it was the best burgers they'd ever had, and that they wanted to move in with us and how lucky my son was for living here.

Sometimes I think young people never eat at home anymore and eat out all the time and then when they do get something 'made at home', it's a huge deal to them. Kinda sad but made me feel really good that I could do that for them.

I let someone in front me in line at Walmart. Then chatted for about 15min to the elderly ladie behind me. I also bought my kids icecream, even though its cold, and let them eat it in the car.

Let's see...during my shopping day I held the door numerous times, gave money to a bell ringer, gave a lady at Limited 2 a 20% off coupon, picked up 2 TMX Elmos for a friend (even though I didn't really have the money to front) and gave away a coupon for oatmeal at Kroger. I am trying to keep my karma good as we are having a VERY bad stgring of luck around here. Plus...it's the right thing to do!

I bought new shoes for a family of 3 boys who were taken from their parents. They live in an orphanage now - it felt really good! :O)
