Is there a shopaholics anonymous?

I am addicted to bargains! I went to the mall yesterday and bought a ton of stuff that I did not need because it was a good deal, then I thought I had my shopping for the holidays done days ago and couldn't resist the 9 dollar key chain bargains on the lwif-internet thread and my mom called me from walmart and told me they had Foosball and air hockey tables for 20 dollars. I don't need it, don't know where I will put this stuff! I can't stop!!!

*FYI*
I have not seen them yet...My Mom called me and told me they were really nice and had to get them!
Last year I purchased a very nice Texas Hold'em poker table for DH for only 35 dollars! My Mom said they are as nice as the table.

The table was too big for the house; so we decided to put it up for sale.

A bar owner purchased it for 175.00!! I couldn't believe it! Every once in awhile, hubby goes there to play and snicker quietly to himself!!

Oh, wondering where I was at? Went to the neighbors garage sale and purchased
Brand new girls 20" bike 25.00
Brand New Discovery channel telescope w/lenses and book 10.00
Slightly used game boy color in purple w/back lite and pokeman gold for 13.00

**Help Me**

Thanks for sharing.. I may have to run to Walmart for meds (reason I'm not in church right now - sick kiddo)
I'll make a run through the toy dept.....

Thanks again,

You're very welcome! My step father works for walmart so, My mom picked up for me and she said 2 employee's had a hard time picking each one up they are so heavy. the employee had no idea and were shocked when they saw the price. My step father said that Walmart moves items every night to get you to walk around the whole store! He also said chances are great that they are NOT in the toy section. You will have to hunt for them...

Wish I could be of more help. Hope you are felling better soon!

My boyfriend thinks that I need a 12 step program for my couponing/shopping problem.

Like today we are going to Super Walmart just becuase I need to get out of the house and I haven't been there yet. Oh and there is a Target in the same shopping center.

Meeting is tonight by net at 7:30.

I am so bad when it comes to shopping. I can control it to the point of it not hurting the budget but hubby gets so aggravated at times. So aside from my full time job, I've picked up my old at home phone job that will be used exclusively for shopping. They even give me a Visa card and they put my earnings on that. WHAT FUN!!! I'm waiting for my first pay, later this week....... but knowing that's coming, I think i've already spent it.
Hubby got a new job a couple weeks ago that is a big improvement in pay, but he must have gotten inspired by me and picked up an extra job on his days off and he told me that the money earned there will be HIS spending money. Humph. Whatever.

I bring the wine and cheese!

Target and Walmart together in one mall. I have to move to Ohio.

My husband opens a closet and says why do we have all this stuff. I always tell wait we will use it. Who can pass up 3 pack of 8 cent glue sticks or that 75% off toy at Target. And hey sometimes he gets something out of it. I picked up golf gloves 75% off at Target for him.

Compulsive Shopper Checklist

Do you “take off for the stores” when you’ve experienced a setback or a disappointment, or when you feel angry or scared? Yes, scared they're going to run out

Are your spending habits emotionally disturbing to you and have they created chaos in you life?

Do your shopping habits create conflicts between you and someone close to you (spouse, lover, parents, children)?

Do you buy items with your credit cards that you wouldn’t buy if you had to pay cash?

When you shop, do you feel a rush of euphoria mixed with feelings of anxiety? Yes

Do you feel you’re performing a dangerous, reckless or forbidden act when you shop?

When you return home after shopping, do you feel guilty, ashamed, embarrassed or confused?

Are many of your purchases seldom or never worn or used? Yes

Do you lie to your family or friends about what you buy and how much you spend?
Would you feel “lost” without credit cards?

Do you think about money excessively – how much you have, how much you owe, how much you wish you had – and then go out and shop again?

All joking aside... I really do have to answer "YES" to some of these questions!

I think this pretty funny and I made a few comments

Compulsive Shopper Checklist

Do you “take off for the stores” when you’ve experienced a setback or a disappointment, or when you feel angry or scared? Yes, scared the other local Target shoppers will clear everything out.

Are your spending habits emotionally disturbing to you and have they created chaos in you life? No

Do your shopping habits create conflicts between you and someone close to you (spouse, lover, parents, children)? Yes my BF hates how I wander (I leave him at home)

Do you buy items with your credit cards that you wouldn’t buy if you had to pay cash? No credit cards

When you shop, do you feel a rush of euphoria mixed with feelings of anxiety? Nope no anxiety with that.

Do you feel you’re performing a dangerous, reckless or forbidden act when you shop? When I get something for pennies or free yes it seems forbidden.

When you return home after shopping, do you feel guilty, ashamed, embarrassed or confused? Nope very proud

Are many of your purchases seldom or never worn or used? Yes but I'm learning

Do you lie to your family or friends about what you buy and how much you spend? Nope I flat out tell them.

Would you feel “lost” without credit cards? Nope surviving quite nicely

Do you think about money excessively – how much you have, how much you owe, how much you wish you had – and then go out and shop again? NOpe pay my bills and spend the few dollars remaining.

I feel sorry for those who have not, "seen the light" and pay full price!
Even though I don't wear it all, what I buy is very nice!
So, here's to all my friends who share bargains and codes...
