My kids are pretty much grown-but I still have every single thing they ever made me..my favorite things I think are the cut outs of their hands that they made me many years ago (in material) and decorated to look like gloves. My oldest wanted to decorate the trees this weekend by herself-and she wanted me to go shopping so I wouldn't bother her while she was doing it..when I got home and saw the trees and all the special things on it-I cried..
fyi-the second and third things that go on the trees are their baby shoes-tied with plaid ribbons and are hung right beneath the angel on the top of the tree. Man does that make me sad.

My favorites are the ones with their little handprints and pictures. I have gotten those handprints on a laminated page with a poem (reminding me how quickly they grow). I have all their handmade items from when they were in preschool and elementary school that they made for various holidays throughout the year. They are such treasures.

My personal favorites are anything with their picture on it/them. This keeps the memories flowing and are so much more fun to look back on in later years. Although, I TRULY do most treasure ANYTHING the kids make me with their own hands. I would rather get a handmade anything than any diamond or gold. Hubby doesn't believe me.....last year when I told my two to make me something, he said to my video-game-loving some... "How would you like it if your mom gave you a homemade XBox."

ornaments with pictures on them for sure. My parents still put all of my bro's and my ornaments on the tree LOL I also liked one my son did in kindergarten. Each child sat in a chair and held and "I love you" sign and then got a pic taken and then it was framed for us

I agree; the handmade ornaments.

There is a special item that I received for either Valentines Day or Mothers Day for my middle child. I think the person that came up with the idea was very clever. I could not thank my child's teacher enough.
It is a box wrapped in red paper with a pretty ribbon tied on it. On it is a tag that reads:

Quote:
This is a very special gift
That you can never see
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you from me.

Whenever you are lonely
Or are ever feeling blue
You only have to hold this gift
And know I'm hugging you.

You never can unwrap it
Please leave the ribbon tied
Just hold the box close to your heart
It's filled with hugs inside.
That is one of my most favorite gifts that I have ever receive and I will treasure it forever.
