Ok I started mine before Thanksgiving and lost 23 lbs lost 10lbs on my own and 13 lbs on a diet my friend gave me and I lost the 13 lbs in one week. I am going to be getting back on the diet within this next week so in hopes I can lose a little extra before Christmas and not have to worry about gaining. I am starting all over after the new year.

How many ounces of water do you drink a day? I am at least suppose to have 64 oz but sometimes I drink more. I want to set my goal at losing at least 40-50 more lbs. I would love to weigh 119 like I did when I was about 17-18 yrs old but I am trying to be more realistic and trying to be patient.

Guess I'm starting today! I will at least drink more water, and hopefully I will have some energy when I get home from work to walk on the treadmill. Plus I'll eat only the size portions I'm supposed to for dinner. I tend to heap a bit more on than I should......

My goal is 145!!

OK my turn. I am happy with my weight but need to tone up a lot. I will start my daily excercise again starting tomorrow. I will also start drinking more water and eating less junk.

It is supposedly a low carb diet, I can email you a copy if you want to try out the first week, it is a diet you are suppose to be able to lose the weight fast, like 5-6 lbs a week and you have to drink your water!!!

I really don't know much about Atkins but I do know you aren't suppose to eat sugar, carbs and you have to watch the fat intake a bit. There are mornings where you just eat 1egg and 1 fruit for breakfast lunch would be Beef and Salad w/ salt vinegar and pepper (I used balsamic vinegar) and dinner would be 1 fruit, that doesn't sound like much but it isn't really bad until you get to some of the food combinations.

I was impressed with losing 13 lbs in one week when I was only expecting 5 or 6 to lose. Either way its pretty good.

If anyone is interested I will be glad to send them a copy of the first week to see if you like it or if you want to continue. Beware the holidays are temptation and it might be better to wait until the first of the year??? It's up to you.

OK Ladies I just want to remind you all to drink your milk. When you are trying to lose weight sometimes it doesn't come off because your body is lacking calcium so the extra cushion protects the bones. Try to drink 2 glass of milk a day for a week I guarantee you that you will lose some pounds. Good Luck

I have been slacking on my excercise and water in-take...but have been good about portion size.

Thank you for the incentive of having others read about progress. Now I will re-start today.

Girls (and guys)..I have to lose over 100lbs for my daughters' wedding in October of 2008..
13 years of living with this spinal injury and nerve damage in the leg has really curtailed my excercise regimen. I can't find a "jumping on" point that will really get me motivated...so I reallllly reallllllly need help..

Okay. Maybe y'all can help me, too! I have 6 months until I get married! I am at 159 right now, and I want to get to 140 by the first part of June. I would love suggestions. When I got married the first time, I weighed over 220 pounds, and I don't want to be that way again! I just can't seem to get this fat off! I am working out three times a week. I just need a good diet that I can stick to and see results! Thanks--Marilou. You can email me at dreamweaverndixie@hotmail.com

I just sent the diet to all of you that asked for it I think If there is anyone I have missed please let me know and if you would like me to send you the next few weeks of the diet let me know that too. Just remember your body is probably going to be going through some sugar withdrawals lol. Just stick with it as much as possible. I was told you can't cheat on this diet, it gives you some discipline. You may eat as much meat as you want and I added tomatoes and cucumbers to my salads along with balsalmic vinegarrette dressing, salt and pepper. Do not try to eat the smallest amount meat on this diet, I did that for a couple of days and I ended up feeling not so good.

I am going to get back on this at the beginning of the year and get through the holidays. If you have any questions just let me know.

Can I get a copy of that diet also? I need to lose weight, but need a diet to go by. I have lost weight before, lost 67 pounds in 8 months just by going a 1000 calorie a day diet. But it is so hard to get motivated now. If I had a diet sheet to go by, maybe that would be easier. Thanks

I could have typed this, but I didn't watch the Biggest Loser.

I have been fat forever, I don't think i know how to be thin? At one point over 10 years ago I did an Atkins type diet and lost over 50 pounds, but have since gained it all back, 2 kids and quitting smoking helped, but the food did most of the damage.

I have tried diet pills, all sorts of diets and I just can't keep it up. Weight Watchers seems the most realistic and DH lost weight on that the last time we did it, maybe I should try again, it's just a lot of work figuring your points for everything!

I honestly don't have a skinny lifestyle and just can't fine the motivation to bother right now. I keep saying when the kids are both in school full time (another 1 1/2 years) I will have time for me, but will I ever make time, probably not.

I'd like to hear your story. I love hearing about people losing weight! I've been battling forever. I have my "answer" in a 40-30-30 diet (very much like the Zone) - just not ready to start yet.

I'm still waiting for Happy2bhere to send me a copy of her diet..since tomorrow is New Years Day..I've officially started back on South Beach TODAY. My grandfather had a saying that whatever you do on New years day, you will do all year long-I don't want to be "starting" diets all year...so that's why I'm starting today! Wish me luck..I have no willpower.

I went to Walmart today and stocked up on $250 worth of "good for you food".

I am usually so careful with my food budget that it doesn't really allow room for the diet versions of things, but you know what we are WORTH spending the money on. I needed to stock up on everything from bread, to sweetners, to snacks and lean meats. I also bought some prepared foods for a quick easy dinner when I don't want to cook, but still want to eat healthy.

I need to find new and healthy dinners for our family so we can stick to the plan. I am so tired of being huge and if throwing money away on a huge grocery bill will do it, I have to believe I am worth the extra expense.

We are doing Weight Watchers btw, it's the most realistic for the long term.

Hi, will you send it to me, as well? I lost 40 pounds over the last year and a half (and got to my goal weight), but have gained 7 pounds back. If I can lose those pounds, maybe I'll be a little better about sticking with that weight!

Thanks!

Anyone who's interested in making a lifestyle change (rather than a "quick fix") should check out Sparkpeople.com. It's a great resource for nutrition and fitness information. Also, you can sign up and create your own customized fitness and nutritional plans...all for free.

I joined last August and love it. It really gives you the tools you need to make a change in the way you live by creating a balanced, healthful lifestyle. I've lost 15 pounds so far and hope to lose another five by my anniversary next month.

Whoever has received the diet why don't you copy and paste for all to see here. It would be easier than for everyone to keep asking for it .

I joined last August and love it. It really gives you the tools you need to make a change in the way you live by creating a balanced, healthful lifestyle. I've lost 15 pounds so far and hope to lose another five by my anniversary next month.
Thanks I am off to go have a look at it

When I got married the first time, I weighed over 220 pounds, and I don't want to be that way again! I just can't seem to get this fat off! I am working out three times a week. I just need a good diet that I can stick to and see results! Thanks--Marilou. You can email me at dreamweaverndixie@hotmail.com

You can do it! I went from 156 last January, to now 122! I used to be a size 12/14 and am now down to a size 4! Here's what worked for me:

Diet Mountain Dew (I drink water if I'm near death only!)
High Protein
Lowered carbs (I didn't say no carbs, just lowered)
Lean meat
Pre-packaged 100 calorie snacks (cookies, crackers, etc.)
Lean cuisine (no brainer, they are not great, but if you're really hungry, they will fill you up)
DO NOT eat at fast food resturants! They are nothing but high fat and no healthy choices. Sit down resturant is generally better, more food choices.

No DEPRIVATION! If I want ice cream, I eat it, just have to do it in moderation. If I want a double cheese burger from McD's, I eat it! Just can't eat one more than about one every 2 weeks.

I eat a LOT of cottage cheese, Special K cereal bars, the strawberry ones are yummy!

EXERCISE will help you blast the weight off and gain MUSCLE! Muscle burns more calories. Exercise is addicting, once you see some results, you'll understand. I was never physically fit, never. I now do 45 minutes of cardio, which includes walking and running on the treadmill at the gym, and I also have started lifting weights and doing things the right way and also have a workout buddy that is major FIT and really pushes me. She weighs the same as I do, but Geeeeesh! She's rock solid!

Hang in there and just make adjustments in your diet that work for YOU!
