My father had triple, my mother had quintuple and my FIL has had 2, a double and a triple. I've sat in the waiting room 4 times now. It is very serious, but also very routine.

They've really made a lot of progress just in the past 13 years. FIL had his first 13 years ago, my dad has his 12 years ago, my FiL had his 2nd 2 years ago in August and my mom 2 years ago in September. The last 2 were a little easier on them than the 1st 2.

You'll do great - they all felt better afterwards...more energy, etc.

I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. My husband had triple bypass when he was on 36.

I work in Cardiology doing heart ultrasounds. The process has improved vastly over the years for bypass surgery. I few tips I can give you for afterwards are:
MAKE yourself walk soon after the surgery - the nurse will make you do this anyway even though you don't want o.
Keep a pillow with you at all times for a while. Use the pillow to hug to your chest when you need to cough. It helps keep the incision from hurting so much!!
You will be discharged rather quickly from the hospital if all goes well so don't be alarmed if you only spend a couple of days there.
Get plenty of rest!!!
I'm sending love and hugs your way. It is VERY SCAREY, but I'm sure you are in excellent hands!!!
Wish I was nearby so I could drop in and see you after your surgery.
Take good care of yourself!!!
