A gift basket would be nice.
Or how about a blockbuster gift card and you can make a little gift basket for that. You can get the "old time" popcorn holders(target sells them for about $1.19 each) and put some microwave pop corn in there along with pouch butter and the gift card.

My darling hubby's manager gave his this last year and it was awesome. She was new to the company and did not know anything about the people working under her. Very Cute gift and we put it to use.

Good Luck

Go simple and silly. Get him a Hot Chocolate basket. Or one with Cereal and matching bowls. Or one with Herseys Syrup. Just be silly. Most people love getting fun stuff and I bet no one has gotten him something like that before.

P.S. Walmart usually has baskets like this.

My husband gives gifts to the people that work with him, as well as clients. It's always a struggle, because they are male/female/young/old/married and not married. The past couple years we have done a combination of bread mixes/ bread dipping oils (infused flavored oils) and pastas from a company that is local here in the Cincinnati area. The place we get them from is called Little Dipper Company. HTH!

If he travels a lot he may appreciate a travel pillow with an eye mask.
I think maybe a food gift something that you made or maybe a nice assortment from somewhere.

Do you know if it's customary to give gifts at work, especially to your boss? Just wondering because I know "Miss Manners" says it's a no-no to give your boss a gift. If you do give a gift, I wouldn't give anything personal. I'd keep it really simple, like someone else said, maybe something like a gift soup of hot chocolate/soup, etc. Or bake him something. People always love something homemade. That way next year, you won't have to beat yourself up trying to come up with something else-- maybe just make it a yearly event -- something you bake.
