Personally I always hated the "gift basket" suggesstion until last year we got one....

It was in a bucket of popcorn (from Blockbuster) with candy and a gift card for 2 free movie rentals in it....
It was a "famlily" gift and really fun... we rarely rent movies for all of us, but did and spent the night watching the mvoies andmunching on candy and popcorn......

It would depend on his interests but if its for someone you do not know well, you can't go wrong with that or even movie cash.....

You can't go wrong with a Best Buy gift card. I've been at Christmas parties where gifts are exchanged (Dirty Santa exchange) and men literally fight to get those cards!! Or Lowe's or Home Depot.

If you get clothes or something like that, more than likely, they'll end up not wearing it because most guys have their own style. I have three in my family, so I've learned!!

The Blockbuster gift is a great idea, too! I've also seen some movie gifts at JC Penney, too, with the popcorn bucket, popcorn and other types of snacks in them. I think they're on sale now, too.

i wouldnt do clothes b/c size/style is too much of an issue unless you know them very well. same for fragrances since those tend to be things people are very picky/loyal about.

A GC to a local restaurant is almost certain to be used. Prepackaged food makes a good gift (a lot of people i know throw out homemade food since you cant be sure how clean someone's kitchen is): we gave out some glass jar sets filled w/ fancy pastas that went over really well last year.

My DH wants one of the flashlights that you hand crank. I can't imagine that they would be more than $20.00 and I'm sure Walmart has them...what's not to love about "No Batteries required"

The movie rental/popcorn gift sets always seem to go over well. Hickory farms food sets seem to popular among the men too, though my dh prefers the restaraunt gift cards Starbuck gift cards are great for the coffee drinker.

Target has some good things in their boxed gifts section.

How about one of those huge car wash packs (like they sell at target)

I was just coming to suggest the crank flashlights as well. Kohl's has a 2 pack on sale for $17.99, reg. $34. You only have to crank them for 30-60 secs. and they are very bright. I am getting a set for DH for Christmas-he can never find his flashlight, and when he does, the batteries are inevitably dead.

I forgot to mention we are not allowed to do giftcards(which means we have to be creative). I did the movie basket last year with popcorn, candy and DVD in it. I am going to check out these flashlights. I have never seen one. Thanks for the ideas.......

How about a nice MagLite flashlight. The medium size one (2 D batteries) is right around $20. What man can't use a nice, good quality flashlight. My DH will let the kids play with the cheap plastic ones, but he hides his MagLite so they can't find it (and break it).

A digital tire pressure gauge is a useful gift.
