| Favorite Holiday Tunes & Why
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs. I love it because it is upbeat and a song about sharing Christmas. It is from Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" album. I grew up in the 60s and 70s so this was a staple.
Christmas In Killarney
The holly green, the ivy green
The prettiest picture you've ever seen
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at home
It's nice, you know, to kiss your beau
While cuddling under the mistletoe
And Santa Claus you know, of course
Is one of the boys from home
The door is always open
The neighbors pay a call
And Father John before he's gone
Will bless the house and all
How grand it feels to click your heels
And join in the fun of the jigs and reels
I'm handing you no blarney
The likes you've never known
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at home
I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Bruce Springsteen's version of "Santa Claus is Comin To Town" sung live.
I am one of those corny old middle aged women who listen to the holiday songs on the station that plays them 24x7. They make me laugh and cry and remind me of Christmases past. I have a lot of Christmas memories especially since 1983 when my precious son was born on Christmas Day.
I love this time of year!
