What inexpensive gift for 5th grader?

I have a few fifth graders to buy gifts for, and I don't want to be cheap, but I can only afford about $7.00 tops for each. Any clues? they all seem to have plenty of games, and not all of them like to read. Both girls and boys.
Thanks

If Office Depot still has their 5 or 5.99 tvs that makes a nice gift. I got tv's for my 9 and 10 year old sons because they like to watch sports and they can hook their game systems up to it if we make a rood trip. Office depot also had these emergency radios for about 5 dollars and this is with free shipping. Now for the girls you can go to the dollar store and get lotions, make up bag, nail polishes, brushes, hair accessories plus at Dollar Tree they had all kinds of craft kits. The boys or girls you can get saduku books (they have that at the dollar tree also), cards (if they like pokemon or any other type trading cards). If they are into trading cards you can get a binder and the dollar tree has the plastic card protectors for the cards. You can probably also pick up some nerf stuff (boys love it) or sports balls.

can you still buy the package of free rental certificates at blockbuster? it had like 10 free rental cards in it for any video or game?

a few years ago a mom attached one of these to a box of movie candy and bag of micro popcorn. made a cute little package for each and then everyone (boys and girls) got the exact same gift which is always good.

The plastic popcorn container at the Target Dollar spot, $5 Blockbuster gift card and then buy boxes of microwave popcorn and break them up for each container.

Last year my daughter got a $5 Borders gift card and couldn't wait to go pick out a new book. Another idea is $5 Dairy Queen gift card. Both my daughters gave these for gift exchanges and they got stolen repeatedly!

How about a penny folder ? (I'm not sure what it's called, but it's made out of heavy blue cardboard and has circles inside to insert pennies). Include a couple of rolls of pennies, and it guarentees hours of fun. I had kids fighting over these at a gift exchange.

We gave a 5th grader the game called Mancala. It was $4.99 at Target, and the child LOVES it!

My oldest used to play that at school when they had indoor recess. She talked about it so much that we bought it and we all love it! Fun game! Racko is another inexpensive fun game.

This is an alltime favorite game of mine as a child. We lived in Guam and my mom went into this "local" store and got me the most beatiful hardcarved Mancala. (It was called Chunka there, because of the sound the shells made when it fell in the holes.)
STRONGLY recommend buying one if you don't already have one of these. My daughter has one with fruit pieces and the one from Target.

How about the McDonalds Arch Card. You can get any denomination you desire. Kid's love them and so do adults for the new gourmet coffees!
