I just have to vent!!! FedEx has ticked me off!!

I ordered some boots from skechers.com and they were shipped via FedEx on Dec. 12 with an arrival date of Dec. 15. I checked the website yesterday morning and it says "at local facility on FedEx vehicle for delivery" I got home from work yesterday and still no boots so I thought "ok it's the holidays so maybe he was just overloaded and didn't make it here (even though I live 10 minutes away from the local FedEx facility)" I thought they would arrive today since FedEx delivers on Saturdays so I checked their website again and according to them they shipped my boots back to Nashville which is six hours away from me!!!! I just don't understand how they can go from being on the local FedEx truck for delivery to being sent back to Nashville. I emailed them and asked why they were sent back to Nashville and they told me I have to provide them with the shippers address. How am I supposed to know that since it was ordered from skechers.com? I'm sure they have more than one facility that they ship from. ARRGGGHHHHH!!!
Whew, thanks for listening. I feel alot better now.

I hate it when you have no idea when they are going to deliver stuff. I finally signed a paper for them to leave my Fed-X packages.
I thought they kept packages for 3 days before they retuned them?
They are not allowed to leave some of them because the shipper won't allow it. (like tracfone)

My problem has always been with UPS, but this Christmas I have a new UPS man and he is delivery my packages on time & leaves them on the front porch.

Did you get a failed delivery note on your door? It sounds like it's the delivery guy himself who messed it up for. you..I thought they have to attempt delivery atleast 3 times before they return it to the shipper

It doesn't make since why they are asking for the shipper address..You have a tracking number for the package that's all they should need to get your package in route back to you..I would call them again and asked to talk to a supervisor

I am also having a FedEx problem. Checked the tracking info and it says they delivered a pkg to me at 7:48pm on Fri Dec 1. When I contacted them on Mon 12/4, they said that sometimes the drivers get overloaded and just scan items and deliver it when in the area in a day or 2. How stupid is that??!! Why scan and have the tracking info say "delivered" when it isn't??!! Well to make a long story short, STILL to this day (12/16) have not rcvd the package. Fed Ex told me to call the place of purchase (Circuit City) and take it up with them. Gotta tell you--Circuit City Customer Service is HORRIBLE!!!! Hope no one has to go thru what I did. Finally, yesterday (12/15) Circuit City arranged for me to pick up the item I ordered in a local store. I will NEVER buy or order anything from CC again. I wish there was a way to pick my shipping methods too, cause FedEx isn't that great either. They seem to just push their problems off. NEVER (yet) have I had any problems with UPS!!

I wasn't left a delivery attempt notice or anything and they have left packages on my doorstep before. The guy that delivers out here doesn't even wait for you to come to the door. He knocks, drops it on your doorstep, and leaves. In my complaint to FedEx I told them that I would never request their services again because at least UPS got my packages to me when promised. LOL Anyways, thanks for listening.

Well, I've got one for you...I ordered Christmas PJ's for the kids from Hanna Andersson and they gave me a UPS tracking number--actually it links right to it the UPS tracking page. So it was taking like FOREVER to get here so I called them and the guy at customer service at H.A. was very very nice but when he looked it up, he got all funny about it. He told me that if it doesnt' arrive by friday (yesterday) to call them and they will overnight another order to us for free. So it gets here yesterday---by regular MAIL!! NOT UPS! I went back to the link and it goes to the UPS site and says that it was delivered but the label on the box even says USPS.....is that weird or what? Does UPS usually use the regular mail if they can't deliver it themselves?

Your item was processed and left our FOREST PARK, IL 60130 facility on December 14, 2006

I am having a HUGE problem with Fed ex. Waiting for a jewelry item to come. Sys it was delivered at 11 am Friday and left at my front door. IMPOSSIBLE!! You cant get to the front door of my house. When you come down the driveway you are facing the BACK of the house. And there were three people in the house the day that they say it was delivered. I am TICKED OFF AT THIS!! Fed ex says they will call teh driver and tell him to come back on Monday to show where he put the package. Umm yea right!!

I got a response back that says they are "tracing" my package. Ummmm..hello why do they have to trace it. I know where it's at. It's still sitting in Nashville where it's been since 2:22am yesterday morning!! I'll definitely never use FedEx again!!!

Fed Ex does not deliver or take in new *Ground* shipments on Saturday or Sunday. The only packages that they do are those that are upgraded to expensive *Express* (their version of overnight).

That's not the problem. The problem is it was at my local facility and out for delivery Friday morning but it somehow ended up being sent back to Nashville instead of being delivered.

Mine did that once-for an IPOD for my son. It showed it shipped to my local facility, then showed it shipped back to Nashville. I called and they said it was on its way-I got it the next day. Not quite sure what that was all about, but hopefully you will get soon.

Oops... sorry, I got confused! I read the post that said that it had been sent back but then when you said it was in Nashville, I thought maybe you lived in Nashville.

They really are pretty good about re-routing packages because they do such a good job of tracking each package.

I do believe that they will locate and get it back to you. Fed Ex has always been highly reliable in my experience.

I am sorry for your problems. What an unfortunate hassle!

Just a bit of info here....I recently learned from a new friend I met....that each FedEx route is individually owned. My friend owns two FedEx routes. So those drivers don't actually work for FedEx. You purchase a route and a truck from FedEx and you are good to go. So....even if you get bad service...FedEx probably isn't going to do much about it, because they don't actually own that route. It would take a lot for them to force the driver to sell his route off.

I don't think that is true all over anyway. My BIL & SIL both deliver for them and they don't own their routes. I also have a friend here in my town that delivers for them and I know she doesn't own her route.

I think that is how DHL works tho.

Unhappy UPS Problems

I have problems with UPS...I sent a package to a city in SD and when I tracked it, it said it was delivered to a different city in SD! Same address but 18 miles away in a different city. I called UPS and they spoke to the driver and they insist that it was delivered to the right city....of course the person on the receiving end of this package has no phone so I am waiting to hear from her to see if she got the package or not....
Few years ago they delivered a package up the road from my sister and insisted it was the right house...My sister lives down the hill....a neighbor found the box opened, all the packages thrown all over the yard (still wrapped)....(still don't know how that happened)...the neighbor recognized my sisters family names and collected them all and took them down to her...I got NO results from UPS....

Don't lose hope if you are looking for packages from any of the delivery services!! I have had several through the holidays that were bouncing all over the country, or sitting in Kansas City for three days, if I believed the tracking info. All of them have shown up unexpectedly.

I hope everyone's boxes arrive quickly.

Its just the holidays after thanksgiving everything gets hectic just look at the post office line or all the people that go into the UPS store its annoying expecially when they do send something way out of the way my mom had shipped me a package from St. Louis to Knoxville and it took ten days which was so ridiculus as at one point the package was in Atlanta (3 hours past me) its really just the abundance of packages that get sent this time of year expecially with internet shopping!

Whew, it finally arrived and I received not one but two very apologetic phone calls from FedEx. I have a question now though. A survey group is sending me something to test and it is coming FedEx priority overnight. Do they require a signature for overnight? It says it's coming today and I have to been at my inlaws this afternoon and I don't know whether to wait on the package or not. This is my only day off from work this week so it's the only time I can be here to sign if I have to . Should I wait just in case? TIA

They should have a local number in your town... Maybe give them a call? or leave a note on the door... We live in a small enough town that they will do that for us as long as there is something with a signature. Still might be worth a phone call.

Glad your package came. What a wild ride, huh?! Crazy time of year for sure.

Thanks! I never thought of calling and asking. Another duh moment for me but hey I have those quite often. LOL I just checked and it says it's on the truck for delivery so hopefully it will get here before I have to leave.

Things that have been coming to me via Fed Ex are being delivered in big Penskie (sp?) trucks. I have NO idea why. Fed Ex drives by my house, but apparently they are contracting out to other people now.
