My oldest DD came home yesterday and announced that her class was having a Yankee gift swap on Thursday. The gift has to either be something from around the house or something you make and has to be unisex(which is hard since this is for 11 yr olds). My DD is very crafty and wants to make something, but we don't have a clue as to what. I asked her if it was supposed to be something nice or something like a gag gift and she didn't know, so I'm going to assume it should be something that she herself would like to recieve. Anyone have any suggestions? TIA!!

How about decorating a box and fill it with pens, notepads, sticking notes, highlighters, etc?
Maybe add a book that is in nice condition or one that your daughter read.....have her add a note as to why she enjoyed it....Can also make "From the Library of" stickers for inside....

You could make cookies or fudge. Give a video or cd from your collection. Give a puzzle you have put together and know all the pieces are there.

My daughter is having this tomorrow. She got a 20Question handheld electronic game ($7.99 at Target) along with a Magic 8 Ball ($7.xx at Target)
Target also had an iPup for $14.99.

Thank you everone for the ideas. She ended up deciding on a brand new huge toucan kite that I had stashed in the closet. Should be interesting to see what she comes home with
