My sister lives near North Pole, Alaska. Every year she calls us around 5pm and tells the kids "Santa just took off. We watched him leave." She has also sent us pictures of santas house and stuff. We always put out Reindeer food (oatmeal with glitter) every year and the reindeer eat it. No snow here but I love the video idea.

I've been trying to get a Turbo Tank for my DS - finally found one on Ebay and got it, but the seller isn't answering emails about shipping it overnight. I started emailing him yesterday morning, but haven't heard back. So..... we're going to have Santa call DS (found a website where an actor calls) and talk to him. I think we'll have him say he's running short and he's got to deliver the Turbo Tanks to other children and that's why he's calling Trevor - he'll be dropping it off later. Anyway, he's been questioning me about whether Santa is real and I don't want to disappoint him this year! I love the video idea, though. That is GREAT! We do the reindeer food and the Santa cookies, but I think I will incorporate some of the other ideas, too. Thanks! Kim |

My daughter swears she heard Santa the year before last and decide last year to try to catch Santa in the act. She went to bed with her disposable camera on her dresser next to her bed...man it made me so nervous..thought I'd get caught! She fell asleep and never woke up during the night and we've teased her about it! Man, talk about pressure. We always nibble the carrots & cookies and leave a little milk in the bottom of the glass. She's always pleased. Lisa

This is just great and I love the effort that you put into this!!! As for us, my daughter never really believed in Santa. She was a very practical younger child and just did not believe that there was one man that lived somewhere with elves and could do all of this for everyone. This was coming from a 3 year old!!! So I have never had to dodge any ??'s about the Big Guy. Since she is 12 now I still say that there is a Santa and that he is about giving and kindness. There is always that bit of doubt in all of us though I think. The cookies and milk each year are left out under the tree. Last year our kitten ate the cookie. Each year my husband dresses up as Santa and comes to the door. I love this.

My 3yo is just now getting the concept of Santa. She far more interested in having a birthday party for Jesus with balloons and goodie bags! I finally got her to tell us what she wanted Santa to bring her and it turned out to be the Fur Real pony and a cowboy hat. Of course we got them for her. She did wonder how Santa was going to get in, since we have no fireplace. I was prepared for this. I'd won a pair of old fashion skeleton keys form ebay, that are now called the "Santa Keys". We'll leave those outside for Santa to use to get in. |
