I like to get all the matching items for paper. It just makes the packages look prettier.

hmm i have some green notepad from some car dealership that i flip over (so the logo is not visible) and cut into squares and put to and from on it. Then i take a piece of wide clear packing tape the same size as the label and place it over the 'label' on the package.... well.. it works? |

I have always used store-bought tags. But this year. I am into scrapbooking so, I bought some Christmas punches and used some of the extra cardstock I have. I know I did not save any money and it was time-consuming but I had a lot of fun working on them. And since I have never been know for being crafty, I am very proud of my gift-tags! lol Sylvie |

It varies. One year we did different paper for each kid and parent. Another did printed our own out from the computer. The past couple years we get some 90% off after christmas so have been using those. For some relatives this year I used some foamie shapes as gift tags.

I used to buy them after Christmas for 50-90% off. I have so many now I don't need to buy them for probably 10 years! I also received some in the mail from the Diabetes Association along with address labels. I also make some of my own using a tip I heard a couple years ago. When you are ready to throw away your Christmas cards, cut out the cute pictures and then punch a whole and use ribbon to attach them. I use these for the gift bags and just attach them to the handles. Lisa

I've always bought them during the clearance sales after Christmas...I've got enough variety so that they'll match almost any paper I have...I do like the ideas above about how some people make their own...I'm just not that creative, but wish I was.... ~Lisa |

I have for the past 2 years ordered mine from Walmart.com and then picked them up within an hour. I get 2 sheets with ds' pic so that we give those to his teachers and I get 2 for dd. This year I got a family pic put on 3 sheets so that I could use those for relatives. So far everyone thinks they are great and it wasn't that expensive.

Let's not forget www.americangreetings.com for printing out gift tags and lots of other stuff. Just go to Create & Print. I even printed some gift card holders out this year on that site. A birthday, and Christmas and Chanukah.

If you save the Christmas cards you receive, the next year you can cut the front off them and make a beautiful gift tag or a just use it for decoration on plain wrap. Save the whole card so you will remember who gave it to you and not put that card on that person's package. Or I just cut tags out of wrapping paper especially when it has cute pictures that can be cut out into tags.
