Ok..so whatdya get?

Well after a long discussion with my DH about how we weren't going to buy each other gifts, he bought me a beautiful pear shaped emerald & diamond ring in yellow gold. He gave it to me in a nutcracker limoge type enamel box. Its really pretty and a nice surprise! Good thing I bought him something just in case. I guess a Braun shaver just doesn't do justice to what he got me.....but he liked it.

What did you all get?

From MIL I got magazine subscriptions to a Rachel Ray mag and Good Housekeeping, one of those flashlights you just shake and a purple top. She always makes sure one of my gifts is purple since that's my favourite colour and it's been a tradtion since we've been married.

From my mom, the usual, socks, underwear (which I really need and she's on a very tight budget), candy, tea bags in a ceramic tea pot. Kinda cute. Some kitchen towels and oven mitts (good thing since I always burn myself)

From the DH I got a simple cross necklace, a heart-shaped one with my birthstone, 2 gift cards, 1 to Lane Bryant and 1 to Torrid, a trial membership to the gym he goes to, a spot light for when I'm at work so I can find houses (I deliver pizza and it amazed me how people cannot put on lights or a number on their house!) and something else which he hid really good and can't find!!!! He has to hide them on me because I'm such a snnop! He shocked me with my b-day present and hid it in my own trunk! GRRRR

Not much else since we have a small family and on his side we decided not to exchange gifts anymore, but we do get for his mom to keep peace! LOL

DH got a radio he wanted, a car CD player, a CD, DVD's, cologne, magazine subscriptions, gloves(from his mom) socks, gloves, calander (from my mom)

My 8 and 6 year olds done the shopping, apparently, LOL.

I got a minnie mouse sweater(I'm sure my girls wanted one for themselves)
2 trinket boxes that they went and painted for me....so sweet and cute
gingerbread house candle from Bath and Body, maybe? It smells wonderful
The large off white overnight type bag from Bath and Body
GC to JCPenneys
a massager from Bath and Body
Yankee candles
and some miscellaneous items in the stocking

I know my kids really picked everything out and that made it really special. Now, where and when do I wear that sweater? LOL!

I got a gift certificate for a TATTOO ! ! ! from my husband. Now I've got to figure out what and where?
My daughter got me Crest Whitening Strips. LOL Something I'd mentioned months ago that I'd like but I'm too cheap to buy.
My twin sons went in together and go us a Home Theater to go with the 32" HDTV we just bought ourselves. It's the first new TV we've ever had in 31 years of marriage. We may never leave the house now.
Those were the 3 gifts that really surprised me.

This is the first year that my DH actually went and bought me something (he usually says he doesn't have any money)But this year he took Daughter #1 and she MADE him get me something. I actually got some great stuff..Paula Dean's cookbook, a book called BAD POPES which I was going to buy after New Years, some Ciara perfume-which he likes on me and I only wear in the winter when he's around..otherwise it's Ralph Lauren Blue. My girls got me some movies, a robe, a whole basket full of baby cornstarch, and baby bath stuff (I'm addicted to powders and baby bath..lol) one of those diamond circle necklaces from my sister and brother in law, two bracelets, a candle tart warmer, 3 home interiors candles, and some other stuff from my best friend..it was a good year!

Hehe..is that for you or for someone else to enjoy?

I got a KitchenAid stand mixer from my family...finally. Been married 13 years and my aunt works at Whirlpool. There is a great family discount and EVERYONE in our family has one (usually gets it for wedding gift). I also got some silicone bakeware, glass dishes, etc. from my family. I got a sweater and PJs from my brother and his family. The kids made some nice handmade items. NOTHING from DH. No real surprise...last year I got a handmade certificate for a massage and an overnight at a casino. I FINALLY got to go after Thanksgiving. I just got a free night at the same place in the mail, so I plan to give myself the same gift..only sooner this year! LOL Money is tight, but not that tight.

We are going to look at puppies tonight..maybe that will be my gift. DH only agreed to a cat.....

I got some candy and bubble bath from hubby and this:
http://tinyurl.com/y8rhql

This was the necklace that I really wanted, so I'm glad he got it for me. We got money from MIL (which we had to use to fix our SUV ), a GC for a local restaurant, a 6 month subscription to NetFlix from our niece, then we each got individual things. I think the best gift we got was a framed 8 X 10 of all five of us at SIL's wedding. We don't have any family pictures since Naysa came, so that was really great!

Nothing much here, which is fine since I didn't need or want anything. MIL gave me a nice bracelet and some cash. DH agreed that I can have a cleaning lady come in once a week, after baby# 2 is born next month. That's a present that I'll enjoy all year long.

Must be nice ladies....DH said he just didn't have time. It is not a matter of money in this house he makes plenty. He is Mr. Save-a-lot. But got me nothing. I gave him a ton of things. This was the worst though. I want an slr camera he hinted that I would get that so I was kind of planning on it but it wasn't there. The worst part was my wonderful sister-in-law got the camera I wanted. I love her to death but I almost cried when I saw it. Trust me I am not spoiled I don't ask for much but I really thought I would see that camera. I also know that X-mas is not about the gifts and I did have my entire family around me which was wonderful. I guess if I would have received a card that would have even made me happy. Oh well I have a good reason to pout.

Got a video camera that is nice, but DH spend wayyyyy too much on it.....He is a techno geek who likes the newest and doesn't know the meaning of the word sale or discount or anything else.......

I would have wanted a camera, but would have been happier with a much cheaper model that did the same thing.....he would not let me exchange for just a regular model with credit b ack for the difference

Since we are saving money for a European vacation this summer we all decided to go light on the gifts for Christmas.

I got several exotic bags and boxes of teas from Whole Foods, chop sticks (?), iTunes gift card, William-Sonoma mugs and a door mat. (I bought and gave myself a Karaoke 100 song microphone the day after Thanksgiving.)

My husband got a wallet, slippers, syrups, coffees, pj's, and chocolates from WF.

My daughter got Whoonu, Magnetics, University of Florida braclet, inkpen, 100 Years of Football book, and notepad, purse, notpads, sticky pads, notecards, mints, socks (she LOVES socks), tissues, BBW peppermint lotion, inkpen, Klutz pipecleaner dog book, Olivia notecards and a few more treats.

I enjoyed overhearing a phone conversation between my daughter and my mom. My mom asked what did she like the best then she said Since I wanted nothing for Christmas I liked everything that I got.

Santa will be coming in July with alot of English souvineers!!!

I hope everyone got exactly what they wanted AND the items that you got up at 4am the day after Thanksgiving were the most appreciated.

After a few years of DH saying he would never buy me jewelry, he surprised me this year- got me a diamond necklace. Also got me some nail stuff (from the kiosk at the mall- those guys are sooooo aggressive at selling), ipod stereo thing, ipod cases, Devil Wears Prada DVD, bracelet, and went out yesterday and got me the Jackass 2 DVD. He is also giving me $200 to shop with. YAAAAAY.
We've come a long way from the first Christmas together when I got socks and hair scrunchies.
