Laundry... once a week? or daily?

I wash laundry once a week... so many of my friends and relatives do a load every day. I periodically will try doing it that way but never last for long. I always go back to my once a week way (which happens to be today, yuck).

Nearly every day....wash and dry in the morning before work, fluff and fold in the evening. I'd have to spend a whole day doing it if only once a week and that would be ugh...

So... how do you handle the folding if you do it every day? Also, how do you separate out the whites, dark and light colors?

I grew up in a home where we went to the laundromat once a week so I'm not really dumb; it's just the way I've done it for 40 years!!!

Oh how I dream of doing laundry once a week. My Mom always has had Monday as laundry day. With four kids, I could NEVER get all of our laundry done in one day. I do several loads a day and never have it completely done. I was several loads and then fold them all and put them away.

I have gotten into the terrible habit of not separating colors. We use the washer as a hamper- when it gets full, we turn it on. Usually every other day, sometimes we can go an extra day without doing a load. AWe have no schedule with it.

Once every two weeks - but on that day I do about 12 loads!! I use to throw a load in every day or every other, but where we are living now we don't have washer and dryer hookups, and with the weather there is no way I could make the hike to the laundry room every day! Laundry day would be sunday, but since that is NYE, it will probably be fri or sat instead this week.

I wash almost every day and it seems as though there is always something piled up exta, like towels, sheets, blankets. I throw in laundry while I'm doing something else. If I only did it once a week it would monopolize my whole entire day, I would have to be at home and not be able to run any errands or go to church or anything on either of my days off work. One day would have to be devoted only to laundry. So it's easier for me to wash a load everyday.

I'm a household of one... just me.
I have a portable apartment size washer and do it once a week.
I would do it more often but you have to hook the portable to the kitchen sink faucet.
so I only do it once a week.
Potable won't do throw rugs or blankets so taking those to the laundrymat happens only when needed.

When I use to be a clean freak, I did laundry everyday. Most days I do laundry every 2 or 3 days except when I not feeling good then I'll let it go for a week.

at least every other day if not daily...once a week would not cut it in my schedule and leave me room to do anything else.

I have a load in everyday. Whether it sheets/towels/clothes. Someone always needs "something". We're a family of 4 and typically, it's 2x a week per person.

Every other day. I hate doing laundry. I live in an apartment so I have to use the complex laundry mat. I do laundry late at night because during the day all the machines are full. There is only 6 machines for about 48 apartments; real smart! I have to do laundry tonight and its cold.

Family of 4 including DD12, DS10 and 2 dogs - every day! Most days I do at least 2 loads of laundry. If I don't, then it really stacks up quickly. What's killing me lately is our DD12 who has decided she really LOVES to take showers lately and most days takes at least 2! I don't think she has the concept of "using the same towel a few times" down so we are drowning in towels!

Once a week. Only the DH and I. If I need to wash something unexpectedly, I can take it to work. I miss not having a washer/dryer.

I have not washed clothes in a week and I cannot believe the pile up. I usually spend Sunday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday morning doing laundry. I do not dry alot of my clothes so I do loads that are all hang ups (of one color) and then alternate dryer clothes so I do not have a pile up to dry and a pile up to hang up. It has been nice not having clothes all over the upstairs this week drying.
The washer is calling me now.

I do it whenever I feel like it. I do have a set day or times to do laundry, just when I see it pilling up I'll do some. We don't seperate colors either. If there is a new item, I will wash it with the twoels so if it does bleed, it will on those and not all the other clothes. Otherwise, it's only seperated by the kids clothes go in their own loads and the parents get their own loads. Makes it easier when I take the baskets to the rooms.

Once a week for us. There are 5 of us. I go to the laundromat and can do all the laundry washing and drying in an hour and a half. Much easier that way all at once.

It's done on a daily basis here. If I didn't, I'd be flooded in laundry! DH is in construction and we live on a farm, so sometimes there's 3 outfits for him, and 2 for each of the boys and I from chores.

Just the 2 of us and I still do it 3 times a week!
Sometimes a partial load. I am happy they have the smaller settings on washers!

I hate to see the full basket sitting there.

Both.

I do a load almost every day - put it in the washer in the evening, move it to the dryer in the morning, fold the clothes that were already in the dryer before I leave for work.

And then on Saturday I do several "catch-up" loads so that *everything* is clean at once.

I dunno - I have 3 kids, and one is away at college much of the time. Why is there so darned much laundry around here??

With just DH and myself this is how I do laundry too. I have one load of dark colors, one of light colors, towels and a load of whites. I am a fanatic about separating LOL ... Sometimes laundry will only get done once a week and then it's just bigger piles of colors that gets separated into two loads instead of one

There are 6 of us-- DH, myself, DD 19 yrs, DS18 yrs, DD 16 yrs and DD 10 yrs. I think that if the washer and dryer could run away, they would. My washer and dryer run non-stop. We wash pretty much around the clock. I do 3-4 loads a day. We all have jobs to do. My DH will wash and dry but not fold and put away. Somehow it all works out!
