How late do YOU stay up on New Year's Eve?

I dread the whole midnight thing just thinking about it, LOL.

My family is generally in bed as soon as the ball drops in NYC which is 10:00 pm our time!!!

We have been invited to a party this year and I am so sure that we will be fuddy-duddies and have to leave early. My oldest son has be be up at 6am for school on Tuesday and second day after a late night is always his hardest.

How late do you stay up?

If I see midnight, it is East Coast midnight--and I am in California, so that should tell you something!

Unless we go somewhere or are hosting, we usually wait for the ball to drop.

I am not a night owl in any shape or form so my hubby gets all annoyed with me because I usually do not make it to midnight. I just can't help it. I'm a morning person.

Cuthie, is there anyway you can take a nap?! I know it sounds really fuddy-duddy, but that's what I'll have to do. I am usually in bed by nine, but David likes to go out. We're going to a big party/bonfire tomorrow night, so I'll nap for a couple of hours tomorrow afternoon. Just a suggestion...from one fd to another! :-)

Thanks for the great idea! I certainly will try for a nap ... but I am also concerned about the kids and they won't nap! Sometimes it's difficult being an FD (with capital letters!) with my little troop of fd's.

I hope that you all have a great time bringing in 2007 (no matter what time it arrives at your house!)!

I plan on partying like it's 1999!!
Actually we are stuck at home watching the Bears game on TV.
I did go to Party City and bought a 7 foot long plastic Times Aquare scene and party favors.
If we are home then I am planning on making it as festive as I can.

I'm up until 8AM most nights because of the shift I work. Stuck at work this year, so I'll bring a bottle or two of Martinelli's, and see if we can keep things from being too depressing.

Hubby and I are going out, so I think we'll be home about 2 or 3. Depending on how drunk I am (my yearly drink.....1 or 2 and I'm done LOL), I might be up till 4. I'm a night out so it doesn't bother me unless I have to work in the AM the next day, which I don't have to this year.

I'm a night owl, so I'm sure I'll be up until at least 1:00 or 2:00 (probably later), but DH is almost always in bed early. If I guilt him, he will stay up until 12:00, but I usually tell him that he doesn't have to stay up if he doesn't want to. I bet he'll be in bed by 11:00 or 11:30 at the latest (and that's late for him). Oh well, more champaign for me!

I am in TN (Central Time Zone), so we watch the ball in Times Square drop at 11:00 our time, then stay awake to "whoop it up" at midnight. Dh and I are usually asleep before the kids - last year they said I conked out at 12:19!

I am usually cuddled up under the covers by 12:05.
This year we are going to a party that ends at 1:00 and then we have over an hour drive home.
It is the long drive that usually keeps us home.
Not sure why we are being so brave this year.
Might stay in a motel, but probably not.
I know I will be nervous going home.
We will have one drink at the most but it's the others on the road that scare me.

We usually plan for midnight, but we typically end up being up later. We have no plans, we'll just stay home & play games with the dds until midnight, open some champagne (sparkling cider for the girls) and watch the ball drop. Then we end up going to bed later...last year around 2AM, hopefully earlier this year!

I'm usually a fuddy-duddy, falling asleep during the 10:00 news. I guess playing games helps keep me awake.

Although I am usually in bed pretty early, we'll be at the neighbor's playing games, so will probably be up until 1:00 or so....

For those of you going out, please be careful!

Happy New Year!

I wound up going to bed after 2 and the rest of the family went around 2:40.

Needless to say I did not get out of bed until after 11am!! I am happy that our Target did not go 75% off this morning.

HAPPY 2007!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I was actually up after 12:00 this year---but truly only because I needed to pick up my 13 y o DS from a party. Picked him up at 12:20 or so, and we stayed up and talked till almost 3:00. Would never have stayed up even until 12 if not for this.

We ended up staying at home... We were all to nervous to be on the roads!

We had a GREAT time!!! We played games, watched movies, saw a really fun Garrison Keillor Special (that was a riot for the kids), ate lots... we really enjoyed the family time!

AND I made it until midnight! A miracle!

Smile New Years

I was up till 8:30 a.m. because I felt aweful and my husband had to take me to the hospital quick care at 3 a.m. and have pneumonia
I could never be a partier
That messed us up all day today (going to bed that late)
we are definately pretty boring

28 yrs old no kids and still are in bed by 10 or 11 on weekends all the time
