How often do you go to the movies?

We rarely go to the movies, maybe once or twice a year.

Today we went to see " We are Marshall" and it was a good movie.

For once there was no sex and limited bad language.

Before Christmas I went to see Charlottes Web. The last time that I had been to a theater was to see the Princess Diaries.
I could not believe that it was $9.50 for an adult!! What happened to $5.

We, "the parents" go probably 2-3 times a year.. the kids get to go more often... School field trips and friends inviting when they're going....

I ran by the movie store tonight and rented 3 for us (DH and I) to watch in the next couple of days...
We got RV, Health Inspector and Failure to Launch.

Hope I can stay awake through the one tonight! LOL!

Not very often...MAYBE 6 times a year, but even that is alot. I usally wait for them to come out on DVD so I can be in the comfort of my own home. There are several movies out right now that I want to see though. We Are Marshall is one of them.

We go often, always in the afternoon during the week. The past couple of weeks we saw:

The Pursuit of Happyness, the movie was real good. Will Smith's son is a cutie, and a pretty good little actor.

The Good Shepherd, with Matt Damon. It was very long, and boring.

Blood Diamond, with Leonardo DiCaprio. This movie was Great ! L D was so believable as a South African diamond smuggler, he had the accent down perfect, and what a handsome man he's become. This movie is also very sad and very moving.

Oh I forgot, we also saw Babel with Brad Pitt. It was just OK.

I used to go often, but not so much lately. I discovered the Red Box rental thing at the Grocery Stores and it's only $1.00 a night to rent a movie. It's like a vending machine and they have new releases. I love it!

I think the last movie I saw was Star Wars Episode 3. No one wants to watch all our kids, so we don't go much of anywhere.

The last movie we saw was "Looney Tunes, Back in Action" only because our old landlord gave us passes to the diner/movie theather he owns. I can't see spending the money on the movies anymore. I remember some places that were only $1 and we had a blast.

DH and I used to go pretty frequently - about 1-2 times a month - if there was something we wanted to see. Now that we have a 5 month old daughter we don't go very often anymore. Since DD was born I have had a birthday, DH has had a birthday and we had our 8th anniversary, so my mom watched DD so we could go to dinner and a movie for each occasion. If we didn't have family close by, then we wouldn't be going to the movies at all. It seems like whenever we rent movies we are always too tired to watch them so it ends up being a waste of money.

maybe 2 or 3 times a year---ant that is always at a matinee---$9.50 or $10.00 here for "regular" showtimes is ridiculous!

We go about 6 times per year- always to a family movie. We have a theatre in the next town where you can go for $4.75. Or we go to the 4-6 pm Showcase matinee which is $5.50. I never pay $10 each to go see a movie. We usually bring our own snack, too. For Christmas vacation, I was able to get a free 2 week extesion on my Blockbuster membership. Three movies at a time- when you are done watching a movie- you bring it to the b&m store and they let you exchange it for another movie. They mail your movie back- so you get double the movies. We are getting all caught up on our movies here.

We go once or twice a month... We don't spend a lot on our entertainment; don't buy a lot of DVD's or expensive 'toys'. It is something that our family likes to do together (me, DH, 9yo son, and 12yo son). We almost always go to discounted matinees or buy discounted movie tix from AAA for after 6pm shows.

We try to stay clear of the concessions and 'sneak' in our own treats (ie tootsie pops or other) and water bottles. It pays to have a HUGE purse! If we do buy popcorn, we buy the one with one free refill. Harkins Theaters here in AZ, will carry it over to your next visit if you save the bag. Also, I carry in small brown lunch bags so that the whole family can share the popcorn.

I even go by myself in the afternoons sometimes while the boys are at school especially during hot weather. It is a hobby of mine.

See, we have it down to a fine art! LOL.

Ew... that does sound risky if it is known that they throw people out for that, yikes.

Our theater just does not make a big deal out of it. They seem to value the business as throwing someone out could potentially mean that a patron would not return?!

Thank goodness.

suuummmmmer.... what store does this; "Red Box Rental"??? Thanks mucho!

I do laundry and watch DVD movies on Mondays while the kids are at school... usually I check out almost everything from our library (they have an online card catalog so that I can place 'holds' on movies and then they email me when movies come in but sometimes the wait can be long!).

We only go a couple times a year. We went yesterday and saw Night at the Museum. Youngest dd got a $20 gift certificate from a friend for her birthday in September that she wanted to use. We rent movies just about every weekend, though...unless we have something else going on.

Never mind... found online: www.redbox.com

Not one within 20 miles of me.

But maybe worth it for other people to look into as there are several locations throughout the US?!
