| Removing rust in hair
Sounds like a bit of a silly question, but I'm looking for some suggestions on how to remove the rust colored buildup from my hair. We have a water softner and all, but over time it still builds up and I'd like to get rid of it without going to pay top dollar at some salon. I've heard lemon juice works, but not sure the mixture and I'm afraid I'll come out bleached blonde or something. My hair is a light brown with some natural blond highlights in it. Anyone have some good tips or advice? Thanks!

I guess I would maybe try the vinegar thing, I don't think it would hurt (although the smell may be less than desirable!)

I used to know a girl who used her regualar hair shampoo 6 days a week and once a week she would use Prell to strip off all the buildup. She swore by it. I've heard Prell is very abrasive, so it would probably be worth a try. Lisa

i used to have the same problem and i went to sally beauty supply and got a treatment to use on my hair to remove the rust buildup. it is in a packer that you mix in water and leave it on for awhile. if you have a sally beauty supply near by try there.
