Filing Taxes and the Military

The last couple of years we have been able to efile our taxes for free because my DH is military. I haven't seen/heard anything for it this year. Has anyone heard anything?

TIA!

Free file will be up and running on the IRS website as of Jan 16th. They have new changes to the free file. AGI has to be 52K or less. Check out ALL of the companies that participate with free file, because some do only federal, some also let you do state for free. 70% of all taxpayers qualify for free file so DO IT YOURSELF!!! I LOVE tax time!
Becky

Hope this helps!

Thanks all! Here's hoping since we bought a house this year, we'll get a good refund!

Usually the year you buy a house is pretty good because you can use your interest paid as a deduction, but also some of the closing costs you pay you get to use as a deduction as well. Here's to hoping for all of us to have AWESOME tax returns...
BTW if any of you have questions on federal taxes, I can try to help out. Just post a question and I'll try to answer it. I've been doing friends and families taxes for 5 years now, and I have a good friend who's an auditor for the gov, so if I can't answer it, he can.
