My DH is Navy and is currently on a seven month deployment. However, he just emailed me today that he may not be home in time for the birth of our baby. He was supposed to be home two weeks before my due date. He was in the Persian Gulf but is now part of the Navy presence in Somalia. Oh well, I am taking it all in stride. I sure am proud of him.

My husband is a Navy Seabee Chief now stationed in Wichita Falls, Tx at Sheppard Air Force Base. He is a Navy instructor. I also have done the Iraq deployment and also a 1 1/2 year seperation. My husband has been in 12 years and will most likely retire after 20. We have 2 kids 10 and 8 and sometimes it is long and exhausting when he is gone. This is the first time in 6 years that he will not have to deploy and will be home till 2009 before deploying again.
Seabee motto: We build, We fight, Seabee's can do!!!
Best of Luck to all.

My dh was in the army for a little over 7 years... He was about to be on his fourth deployment when he got out- he would be on his 7-8 by now if he had stayed in.

My Husband is the Air Force, He will be in 19 years this August.
We are very lucky he does not have to go to Iraq. His job does not send him TDY
We are stationed at Davis Monthan AFB, the base I was born at.
My Father was in the Air Force 20 years.
Our Son was born at Nellis AFB in NV.

My DH is active duty army for 17 years now.....only 3 more to go. We have been blessed..he hasn't been to Iraq since his tour in 90/91. He is deploying to Korea for a year this summer, but I would rather have him there than Iraq. He is an Instructor Pilot currently stationed in Alabama.

Cool! My DH was active for 7 years in the Army, and is now in National Guard. He left home in July for 3 month training and left the states in October. I pray he'll be home in October, but when he left, I told him I'll see him in 2008. I'm sure they'll extend him and he has to demob before coming home home for good. I gave birth at the end of July, prematurly at 32 weeks, and he did get to come home for that but had to leave three days later with her still in the NICU. It's hard, but it's part of being a military wife. He's due home at the end of Feb for his 2 weeks R&R and I can't wait! He's only seen his daughter 3 times before leaving when I took her down to where he was.

I am an Air Force wife, 15 years, married to him since Day 1 of his career. My hubby is currently in Afghanistan until June. We are PCSing in July to Germany so that is my only trade off I guess for him going (not like we had a choice), but I am ready to have him back home.

All the wives with deployed hubbies, keep you chins up!!

My Dh has 17.5 yrs in the navy and he's doing 20yrs.We have a 13yr old DS and 8yr old DD.He's been to Desert Storm. My heart goes out to all of you that have your DH in Iraq right now.The hardest part of delpoyment is the kids and keeping strong through the whole deployment for them and you.The military wife job can be hard ,but not as hard as it is for our DH.God Bless all of you and your DH that are in Iraq.KEEP Your chins Up and prayer that they come home SOON.

My DH retired from 20 years in the AirForce almost 4 years ago.

My thoughts are with all families who have someone serving now. Hope your husband is home safe soon.

Marine family here, Dh has 18 years in.

He went off to Desert Sheild/Storm a month after we met so most of our courtship was through letters and the occasional collect call!
We married a year to the day after we met, he had been home all of 3 months then. I remember not believing he was coming that day since it was April fools day....lol

He is in a non-deployable job right now so I am quite happy with that, several friends are or have been in Iraq already.
