she turned up pregnant at 14 (she wasn't even allowed to date yet) had her baby at 15
her middle son who is 18 has just become a dad!

Congratulations on being a young Grandma and Great-Grandma! I am 46 and looks like I won't be a Grandma until I'm at least 50. I know people sometimes criticize teens (married or not) having babies, but the upside is there are advantages to having children young, mainly more ENERGY!

Congratulations! Enjoy your family.

I started late having kids so I'll never be able to brag about being a young grandmother or young great grandmother. I can't even brag about being a young mother, LOL!

Wow! Congratulations Squeak!

Most kids don't get to spend much time, if any, with their great grandparents. Your grandchildren and great grandchildren are very fortunate since you should be in their lives for a long time to come!

My mom had me 2 months before she turned 18, on the other hand, I just had my first, and only, daughter 2 months before I turned 33.

My mom just turned 50 and has 7 grandchildren. I know she'll probably be a great-grandmother before she's 60. My oldest is almost 16 so 10 years from now, I can see her being a mommy.
Funny thing is, my mom doesn't even look 40 and the looks she gets when my dd comes up and hugs her & calls her grandma is too funny.

I was 18 when I had my oldest. Got married (the 1st time) at 16, divorced at 18. Remarried when I was almost 21 and have been married a little over 10 years. My oldest will be 13 in March. The other two are 4 1/2 and 6 months. I'm THE youngest mother in my oldest dd's class. I was way too young to be having kids at 18. I see that now. I HOPE she waits until she's much older to have any kids. I SO don't want to be a really young grandma.

My mom was 36 when she had me and hubby's mom was around 34-35. All grandparents are in their mid to upper 60's now, so we don't get much "help" in the babysitting area.

Congratulations!!! The advantage to this is that your grandchildren will have you as a part of thier lives for a long time!! My mom had me when she was 21 and my daughter is 12 and has her GREAT grandparents in her life and that is a true (and rare) treat!! There are advantages of having children early and later, but anyways ENJOY your children/grandchildren.

Wow! Lots of opportunities for multi-generation pictures I hope I wish I had gotten one with my great grandmother when my son was born, she died when he was a few months old and we hadn't had a chance to drive that 1200 miles She was 101.5 years old and my only great-grandparent left.

I think it's kind of sad my mother and her siblings had children so late, well my mother was 25 when I was born and had the first 3 grandkids for my grandparents (and we are 6 and 13 years apart!). My cousins are 17 and under - the youngest one was pre-school age (I think) when I had my son, we saw them once and she was excited to hold him. I have my grandparents only great-grandchildren (three now) and I don't expect my brother or sister (or cousin that's my sister's age - 17) to have any anytime soon.

It is wonderful that you are young enough to enjoy them. My parents are in their 70's and don't have the patience or energy for our kids to be around too much.

My kids have a Great Grandma. She'll be 105 in June! She still has a lot of spunk though! She lives in Illinois, us in NY so we rarely get to see her. We'll be going in the Spring for her Birthday. They love writing her letters and sending her drawings.

My mother in law became a great grandma at age 59 and her mother became a great, great grandma at age 75.

My dh's nephew's girlfriend had his baby when he was 21. The great, great grandma, the great grandma and the grandma were all 18 or younger when they had their babies. There is even a potential of the great, great grandma becoming a great, great, great grandma since she is still in excellant health, doesn't look like 75 at all.

And it also made me a great aunt at the ripe old age of 34!!

I'm with ya on that one. I'm 48 and my children are 11 and 13. DH and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary a week before the oldest was born. This wasn't our choice, it's just the way it happened. We're grateful to have our children.

Well, I'm years away from being a grandmother (dd9, ds8 and ds2). But just recently we had a girl in my office who was my age (32) and she just became a grandmother! She was very young when she had her dd14 and then her dd14 became a mom. I can't imagine being 32 and being a grandmother.

My kids are 6 and 8 years old and I'm 39. We were married 11 1/2 years before our first child was born. That was by choice though. We married young and decided to wait and have kids. I have no regrets though. I truly just was not patient enough or ready to be a mom any earlier.

Hey, congrats, Squeak!!! That is so cool. I am 35 and a great-aunt. My older sister (5 years older than me) had her daughter at 18, then that daughter just had her first son at 19. It feels odd! Plus, my DH has a 17-year-old son (he was born when DH was 18), so the grandma thing "could" happen soon, although we hope he waits for a while. My son is only 8 so nothing will be happening there for a while, thank goodness!

Congratulations!
I have a long way to go for mine it looks like. 26, 25, and 22 none in the market for spouses or babies!!!
My parents had me at 30 and my sister at 43. She had her first at 35. My dad dies 10years ago so her children never had to opportunity to know him. My mom has Alsheimers so she isn't able to be what we would want a grandma for them. So I am grandma. THey don't call me grandma I just shower them with calls, love, and gifts and spoil them like a grandma does.

Congratulations! I'm jealous!

I'm 53 and have 3 kids in their 20's - and none are anywhere near even getting married (which, actually is fine with me - they are not stable enough in their jobs nor mature enough to be parents)

but, I am jealous of you - you're young enough to have the energy to really enjoy the babies.

My mom was a grandma at 34. She had my sister 2 weeks after her 16th birthday. My sister had her oldest 3 weeks after her 17th birthday. My mom is still just a grandma at 48 (in April) but my sisters oldest is almost 15. I see her having a child before 10 years making my mom a GGma before 57.

On a side note my mom is also an older mom. She had her last child on her 35th birthday. She is a mother of 6 and has 6 Grandchildren and 2 grandchildren on the way my brothers girlfriend and my younger sister are both pregnate).
