Online HS Diploma or GED Advice

I am hoping someone here can help me with this. My son needs his GED or HS Diploma. He is unable to attend the classes that they offer and would like to go through one of the site where you do it through the mail. But I am so afraid that we will get ripped off. I knew someone awhile back that did this for her daughter and she now has a diploma. But I have no way to get ahold of her. Help, please.

Try looking at your citys school district web site. I would defently have him get his diploma though. I don't know about your state but here in California a GED is excepted at most places but kinda snubbed at. I used to work for a retail store that would say GEDs are fine but only hired people with a diploma.

Thanks nellyhill for replying, but what I really need is something online that he can do. I think they send you the paperwork, tests, etc and you pay a fee for your diploma after passing the tests.

this is a place that will let you earn your diploma at home. I know kids at our local hs used it to graduate. I also wanted to let you know that if you child is thinks they can pass the test without the classes, you can take the test without attending the classes. The only downside is that if you do take the test without the classes, there is a delay before you can take the test again.

I noticed in my state they offer online courses, but believe that you must test at a proctored site for the GED. I am not sure regarding the online diplomas.

I noticed that you are from Indiana. Usually if your child passed the 10th grade ISTEP, they can pass the GED without the classes.

This site is where we do my son's homeschool. They are accredited. They have 4 different diploma programs. http://www.schooloftomorrow.com/Default.aspx

My son did pass the IStep. He is 25 years old now. I just need to find a school where he can get his Diploma or GED through a snail mail program (if that's what you would call it). I do appreciate everyones help so much! I wish I was better at explaining things and knew exactly what they call it and everyone wouldn't have been confused by my request. Thanks so much for the time you all took to respond also!
