Me and DH will be going to Myrtle Beach in July for our anniversary. Soon to be 10yr old DD doesn't want to take a vacation this year. She wants to spend the entire summer with mamaw and papaw.

Hoping we'll be able to make it to Vermont, I was pregnant with our almost-6-year-old last time we were there, too much family to see before they're gone

We will but we are in the process of deciding actually where. Most likely somewhere in Florida (Clearwater, Destin, Key West).

We own a condo down Panama City Beach...the west end where it's real quiet...When we're not renting it out, we'll go down there for a week in the summer with the kids. During spring break, we'll probably take the kids up to Pigeon Forge, TN...Friends have been and said it's alot of fun up there. ~Lisa

My husband's siblings and their families all go to spend 3 nights in cabins in the mountains during the first weekend in June. We look so forward to it every year -- reserve the cabins for the next year. I think we've been going for 16 years now! Fun!

My niece is getting married in April. We are going down to Arkansas and Texas for the wedding and to visit family. It will be the first time we've been back down there since we moved to Montana in 2003!

Pigeon Forge is great!! I live very close and sometimes we'll drive down for the day. 10yr old DD loves it there. There's so much to do.

We promised dd we'd take her to Disneyworld for her 4th b-day in April. I don't think we'll get there in April because my newborn will be barely 2mo and I don't want to fly with her that young. Maybe for Labor day.

I'm trying to get my dh to take 2wks in a row off even if we don't go anywhere. He needs a real rest for once.

I think we are going back to Florida in June and maybe again in Christmas. I seen on the computer that hubby was looking at cruises over to the bahamas so that would be nice too but we shall see.

We might got to Florida to visit the MIL and SIL in a few months. I would love to visit a friend out in San Diego, but both trips are basically up in the air. If not, maybe we'll visit my mom in PA since it's been almost 2 years since I've been home.

We are wanting and saving for a summer vacation to Europe. I know that England is a choice and while we are there we would like to go somewhere else. Italy is a choice. The only downside is that Clark Howard has said that flights are going to be nearly tripled in cost this and next year. If we do not go this year then we will go next year and have an even better time since the EuroCup would be going on.

Wow Marilyn, it was that long ago?
I remember you living in Arkansas, moving from Arkansas to Montana.. and I think you both were actually looking somewhere else before moving to Montana (wasn't it closer to where I live in Illinois? I can't remember..)

I know you will have a great time going back "home"!!!!
We're looking at taking a trip to Arkansas/Missouri probably over Spring break. I wanted to go on a Cruise for my 40th birthday, but I think dh thought I was kidding when I answered him with that option when he asked "where do you want to go on your birthday?".

He'll probably take me for a "cruise" down the block or something..haha

My mom lives in West Plains and his mom lives in Russellville.. so we will probably end up at the Buffalo again this year doing some canoeing! (which I love anyway, it is just the weather stinks the end of March when we go). I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed the snow and rain stay away!!!!

We are going on a cruise in April to the Western Carib.

Looking to take a Med cruise in 2008 or 2009 depends on finances.

We're going to Myrtle Beach in April for spring break. We have plans for Vegas and the Grand Canyon that we're trying to work out right now. Plus, we'll do a bunch of long weekend camping trips throughout the summer.

We're going to Washington, DC in June. It's just for the weekend but it should be fun. We're going for the Girl Scout's 95th Anniversary. We're having the world's biggest Sing-Along at the base of the Washington Monument. DD will be going on her class trip to DC the same week so she'll be exhausted.

We're planning a driving trip from Florida to Cincinnati, Detroit, Toronto, Niagra Falls, Cleveland and back to Florida
in 7 days, one night in each city.

Dh wants to visit four MLB baseball stadiums, see various restaurants and road food places that he's seen featured on the Food Network and Taste of America shows, visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Niagra Falls.

It's aggressive, but do-able.

No vacation for us this year. Our DD is 6 months old today, and it just wouldn't be enjoyable to take her on vacation yet. I'm sure we could leave her with my MIL, but I'm not going to be ready to leave her overnight for quite a while.

A few weeks ago, my mom, DD and I flew to Kansas to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday - just a quick weekend trip. When I told MIL that we were going, she said "Well, you're not going to take the baby, are you?!?!" When I told her that I most certainly was, she told me that she would be happy to keep her so I didn't have to travel with her??? That's one of the big reasons I was going on the trip - to take DD to meet family. DH was not happy when I told him what his mom said about wanting to keep DD. He said "What am I, chopped liver? If DD wasn't going with you, then she would stay at home with me, not my mom." I guess my MIL just doesn't think it's a man's job to be hands on with his child and take care of her, but DH wouldn't have it any other way.

It's funny how many people want to come to Florida for vacation, but vacation for me would be to get out of Florida - anywhere. FYI, with rising property taxes and property insurance in Florida, rental properties and hotel rooms will be more expensive this year than in previous years. My boss just reserved her usual cottage at the beach and she said that it is considerably more expensive than it was last year.

Wow! You're going to need a vacation from your vacation when you get back home!

Everything you have planned sounds like a lot of fun though, except all that driving.

I am going to Wichita, Kansas for a few days at the end of March.
I am going to a square dance event to learn more about hosting a National Convention, which Louisville will be doing in 2010.

DH and I are going to Charlotte, NC to the National Square Dance Convention in June.
If DH can get the time off, we will take another week and go to SC also.
DH has never been there and we only have 5 more states to go on our quest to visit all 50 states.

We were in Vegas last October. My Dad & brother flew in from Boston, we drove there and stayed a couple of days, then we all drove back to HB. My Dad is 81, he doesn't gamble at all but loves Vegas. Hoover Dam is his favorite place to go.

I hear Excalibur has the biggest & best buffet in Vegas? DH hates buffets, maybe one day I'll get over there to check it out. We always stay at the Orleans off-strip, they send us discounts often.

We are headed to the Bahamas in 8 days. YIPPEE!!!!

I have been there at least 5-6 times and don't actually care for it all that much but that is where my Mom and Dad took their HoneyMoon so we all decided to go there as they haven't been back since. My In-Laws, My nephew, My parents and my family all cruising to the Bahamas (Sis...they still have a few cabins left...tempted tos pend that Tax refund early????). I'll take the Great Food and some rest...with 2 sets of grandparents, DH and I may even get some alone time together...who knows....DS #1 was made in Mexico on a cruise there. LOL

We go to Orlando FL A LOT but the boys haven't been to Disney yet so we will go there later in the year and some time else this year we want to go to Blue Ridge GA (to see DH Granny...97 yrs old and just as spunky as ever) and the Nantahala in NC again.

Happy Vacations Everyone!!!

We ate at the Excalibur buffet the last morning we were in town. I really didn't care for it too much . The Luxor was a lot better . I heard one of the best places to eat is The Mandalay Bay. We never got a chance to eat their . DH and I did have a chance to walk all the way through it and we ended up seeing Shark Reef.....AWESOME .... I can't wait to go back!

Thanks Kelli, now I don't have to bug dh to take me there. Sharks Reef is really cool.

Have you been to the top of the Stratosphere ? Those rides are Scary ! I get dizzy just looking over the edge. Beautiful view !

Edit to say, I just read that Rachael Ray says that the Bellagio has the best buffet, especially for breakfast.
Dh won't go, or go to Mandalay Bay to eat either, the prices make him dizzy. LOL !!!

Nope, I have never been to the Stratosphere . I did drive by it and almost had heart failure when I saw the ride come over the top - LOL. I would like to go to the top at night and look down at the strip. Now that would be soooo cool ...

Thank you for the heads up on the Bellagio . That hotel is on my list to see! And if Rachael Ray (my favorite!) says it's the best buffet for breakfast well then I better take her word for it - LOL

We are going on an Eastern Caribbean cruise the week of March 11 (Springbreak), then will head to Aruba sometime during September. We'll probably try something small this summer, as well (maybe just a long weekend). We love to travel and DH working for American does make it a little more affordable.

My entire family (13 of us) will be going to Williamsburg, Virginia for a week in April! My dh and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in June, and I would love a little romantic getaway, but we will probably be too broke from our April vacation. We might possibly do a weekend getaway to our usual anniversary spot (Belfast, Maine). Its only an hour away and we always have a great time!
