Permanent make-up questions?

Has anyone done the permanent make-up, like eye-liner, eye brows or lip-liner? I'm curious about it and so is my sister so I thought I'd ask! Any opinions?

TIA!

I was getting my tattoo at the same time a customer was getting the permanent eyeliner (in another room of course! ) And the girl was crying and boo-hooing and had to stop and take a 30 min. break between eyes. Now, I don't know if it was really that painful or if the girl was just a whiner. My tattoo guy said, it didn't hurt anymore than a regular tattoo--and my tattoo didn't really hurt all that much.

A girl I know did get it done and she said it didn't hurt that bad, but her eyes were puffy for a few days.

If I was absolutely positive that makeup styles wouldn't ever change, I would maybe consider it, but if you look at the heavy liner from the 80's and think if someone went to that extreme, I think it would look kind of scary. Also I think it might look rather weird if you're like me and don't wear makeup every single day, kind of like I started putting makeup on and then forgot to put the rest on, LOL

My DMIL had her eyeliner done. She said it did hurt but not too much. She said when they were finished with the first eye, she did have to take a break but only because she had to hold still so long for the first one.

Strange thing is, she never wore eyeliner that often before she got it done! I think she looks great. I would never have it done but only because I am hyper sensitive about people and things being around my eyes.

my neighbor has the most beautiful color lips she had it done she said it did hurt and then it peels horribly and you have to go have it redone to get the right color about 2 weeks after the 1st time but she had it done many years ago and they still look great. if i was not such a chicken i would do my lips

It seems like a good idea for eyebrows that are fading away, but I have seen eye and lip liner that could have looked better. Lip colour might work, if it was reasonably natural looking.

OMG....If you guys hear how the brows look after they've been done please report! I just bought the "Anastasia Brow kit" and it takes forever for me to do I would love to just get my brows done so I would not have to fuss with them again except for plucking or waxing

I have several tattoos, and here's what I'm worried about...I know that tattoo ink fades. Black ink turns a greenish color after some years. What color would my eyebrows end up being?

I work with several women that have gotten eyebrows tattooed on, and lips lined. If you can handle a regular tattoo, you should be fine, but remember, tattoos scab over for awhile. The girl who got her lips done, actually worked. She looked like the was attacked by the herpes virus somethin' fierce!

If I ever do get it done, I'll be taking a week off of work. But at $300 for eyebrows..don't know if I want to do it or not.

My MOm had it done about 10 years ago. She said it's not a good idea because your skin and face changes with age, so what looked good when you had it done could look like bags when your skin started to sag.

She did't say anything about how much it hurt, so it must not have been THAT bad.

After seeing her, I probably wouldn't do it. PLus if you ever wanted to change the color you couldn't?

This is hard to believe, but my Mom called this morning and you'll never guess, but she had it redone today!

There was an add in the paper and so she called and went this morning. Here's the update.

7 years ago was when she had it done last and it REALLY hurt. It has since faded and you really can't see it. She went today and the woman who did it charges $200 per eye, $100 for each lid for the first time, cheaper if you've had it done it before. This time they used some numbing gel and it was much faster so it didn't hurt as bad as the last time. They can do ANY color you want, they can match your eye color, anything she said. My mom actually suggested I get it done now.

I would be too afraid to have it done especially the eyeliner..if someone is going to be holding a instrument that close to my eye I want it to be a doctor. I would be too afraid they could damage my eyesite
