VENT X-Neighbor

I am so angry right now at my x-next door neighbor.I had noticed she had a printer up for sale on ebay a few days ago and it did not sell.I asked her if she would sell it to me for the price she had listed it for and a few more dollars if i come and get it for my sister-in-law who is down on the money right now.My brother is disabled and she is the only provider and it would help for her to have a printer so she can print coupons.etc.Well she said that she would let me have it like that.Low and behold it was just relisted on Ebay. What should i do ? Email her and tell her how i feel or just forget about it and never talk to her again. She was not a very good neighbor when she lived by us anyway. No one else but me would associate with her she was always sticking her nose in other peoples business. :-(

Do you have Freecycle where you live?

I see them posted on our local Freecycle quite often and they supposedly are working printers.
Most of them are just regular printers that people have replaced them with the 4 in 1 units.
EVERYTHING on Freecycle is FREE. You just pick up.

It's not worth worrying about it, and it's not worth inviting someone nosy to take more interest in your life because they've given you something. BarbM's advice is good, and it's reminded me that we have a printer we're not using. You might know someone else who does too.

You can get printers for like $40-$50 when Staples or Office Depot has them on a good sale. They are regular laser printers I believe (I'm not a techie). They may even be cheaper at Wal-Mart, but I know I've seen them pretty cheap. I don't know how much you were planning to pay this neighbor for hers though so that might be too much. Check to see how much the ink cartridges are before you buy though as some are really expensive I've found. I agree with the above poster too that you may be able to get one for free as most people have upgraded their computer to the scanner/printer device. HTH

Ones with cheapest ink (just researched this a few years ago!) are Canon and/or Epson.

I think that the copier and scanner options are very nice additions...

We got ours at OfficeDepot.com with a mail-in rebate so around $40 a few years back. I get printer cartridges for $1.50 each on eBay (Canon).

Good luck in your search!

We just bought a new color/black printer at Walmart, a HP, for $30. Our last printer was a HP and we love them! I also agree about the freecycle - sign up and post a "wanted" ad!

Also check your local salvation army. I sometimes go into a store when I have a doctor's appointment in the next city over. This one that I go into always seems like they have a lot of "good" stuff sometimes. There are constantly people walking in and out of there all the time. I bought a 17" flat screen monitor from there and thought I was going to have to pay $15. I thought that wasn't a bad price and when I got up to the counter, she said they were on sale for $5.

We have a Lexmark and the ink is SUPER expensive! It's $30 a cartridge and it doesn't last that long! I think I'm going to buy a new one just because of that. It just doesn't make sense to continue to pay that much for ink.... I think her listing it on ebay again was a blessing in disguise!

Keep an eye peeled at stores like Target. Printers go on clearance all the time and you can pick then up for as little as $20

Yep. Basic printers are pretty cheap nowadays.

No need to stress about your neighbor passing on your offer. She probably thought she could get more but now she will have to pay to relist it, watch the auction, deal with the questions, deal with the shipping.
Consider it her loss.
