How big was your biggest baby?

Reading the other post on baby clothes got me really intrigued! Marilynk you had a whopper!!! How big was everyone's biggest baby? Are they still big for their age?

My biggest (9lbs 5oz) is now my smallest girl...she is 8 and weighs 55lbs, wears an 8s for the length, but they are too big in the waist...she is a gymnast so is very muscular, has a wash board belly that I have only ever had in my DREAMS!!!

My smallest (7bs 8oz) is a chubby one now...she is 7 and weighs 80lbs! She is tall too so she hides it well, like her Mama Her birth weight was lower than my other kids because she was born two week early and only 11 mths and one week after her sister...

My other two were both 81/2 pounds...my son is a skinny minny like my eight year old, my oldest has the potential to be chubby like me but exercises and makes great choices in her eating so maintains a pretty healthy weight.

How about your kids?

My DS was 9 lb, 3 oz one week early. They induced me and my body would not have ANY part of pushing that out! So he was a C-section baby
He's now 4 and 50% on the charts - right in the middle!

My middle child was 9 lbs 8 oz and was 2 weeks early. He's still a big ol' boy in every sense. When he was a toddler, some woman came up to us in Home Depot and asked if he was going to be a lumberjack when he grew up. That cracked us up so much that we still tease him about that to this day.

DD #1 was 8lbs 3oz two weeks early
DD #2 was 8lbs 14oz two weeks late
DD #3 was 8lbs .03oz on time

DD #1 is average height and weight for a 6yo
DD #2 is 4 and in the 100% range and is only an inch shorter than her sister.
DD #3 is 11 months and right on in size wears a 12mon. (but we are lucky to have her and have her be okay. Her cord had seperated from the placenta and they don't know how long it was like that. They think it had partially seperated before birth and completly seperated when she made her grand entrance.)
We thank Heaven for her everyday!

My firstborn son was 11 lb. and 23 1/2 inches long with blond hair & blue eyes. His hands and feet and head were so big,my husband was at first scared something was wrong with him. My husband said had he not seen him born(c-section after all day induction) he would have thought someone switched him in the nursery. We were both shocked. We have dark hair & dark eyes & were avg. size babies(8#)
The nurses were wanting to know what our obstetrician was giving us, because another patient had twins 2 days after I delivered, in the same hospital- and they were 9 lb. 11 oz. and 9 lb.s respectively. Funny thing is,people were always telling me how big I was & I didn't think so because I'd always be comparing myself to her in the waiting room at the dr. visits-of course,I didn't know she was having twins!By the way,we named him Max-the nurses called him" Maximum baby"

first boy 8lbs.3 oz.
second 7lbs. 12 oz.
third child 9lbs. 9oz. (wasn't expecting that!)
and our fourth was the runt at 7lbs. 3oz. (we induced him early so that I wouldn't be delivering him Christmas day)

All of our boys have been off the charts size wise/percentage wise. Three of the boys have always been the tallest boys on the team/in the class etc. DS#2 has been pretty average in height. My 16yr. old is 6'4" w/ size 16 feet. I guess we just grow 'em big!

DS #1 was 8lbs 1oz he's now 15 1/2 and 5"9" and 130lbs

DS #2 was 10lbs 5oz he's now 12 and 5"6 and 125lbs and all muscle (he does weights)

Both were vaginal deliveries. We had no idea #2 was going to be that big. When he came out it looked like he didn't have a neck. He was like a big ball. lol Believe it or not but #2 was the easiest deliery. #1 I was sore for weeks #2 I was up, without any problem, within an hour of having him.

#2 was the biggest baby that had been born in the hospital. We got a special steak dinner.

DD#1 came almost 4 weeks early, weighed 5 lbs, 5 1/2 ozs and I had her naturally. She's 7 now and weighs maybe 55 pounds. She's skinny but can put the food away. My youngest dd weighed 6 lbs, 7 ozs and had to be delivered by c-section. She was about 3 weeks early. She's now 5 and weighs as much if not a few pounds more than her older sister. She's my chunky monkey!

I think my third was the biggest, not sure because neither of my last 2 were weighed at birth. Put my first daughter in a produce scale at the store and that said around 8lb at 8 days old, but not sure how accurate that was. Second daughter was 7lb 5.8oz at the dr office the day after birth. My son was 6lb 15oz at birth, all three were overdue, son was induced 4 days over, daughter #1 11 days late, daughter #2 10 days late.

Hmm where did my edit go?

anyway my son seems bigger than the kids he plays with (one I thought was in Kindergarten because he was my daughter's size or smaller but he was in 4th grade!!!) but they might not be the same age, I think some are or are even older though. He turned 6 shortly after starting school because of the age cut-off for Kindergarten. My first daughter was in the 85th and 90th percentile for height and weight (not sure which was which) at her physical a few months ago, but not sure how she compares to kids her age, she plays with the same ones my son plays with and they're mostly older than her. No clue on my baby, she's 3 months old and was just over 10lbs at her (late) 2 month appt a week or 2 ago. Lots of babies in the October due date group I'm in are a few pounds heavier than her but most were born before she was since she was fairly late.

DS1 8 lbs., 12 oz.

DD 9 lbs., 6 oz.

DS2 7 lbs., 14 oz.

My daughter was bigger than both of my sons...You would think because she was the largest, it would have been the most difficult delivery...Nope...Her delivery was a breeze and I felt the best after giving birth to her...I felt like going out and playing volleyball!...Maybe because I was so happy that I had a girl...Everything was pink and I was just on cloud nine! ~Lisa

My son is an only child. He weight 7lb 14oz and was 21 inches at birth. Now he is tall and thin, like DH was as a child. We have 2 choices when buying jeans for him : high waters that fit him around the waist or fitting him good in the legs but being too big around the waist. It is a pain in the rear finging pants to fit him. I have to carry around a tape measure so I can measure them before I buy them.

My one and only DD was a normal although long (26 hr) delivery and weighed 7# 14 1/4 oz. 20 1/2". She started out normal on the charts and then she dropped off the low end. When she was in about 2nd grade we started to wonder why she seemed to stop growing and had her tested at Children's Hospital in Chicago. They said that she would probably reach a maximum height height of 5'2". She is now 26 just under 5' and wears a size XS. My MIL was about the same height. Anybody else have short relatives??

ds was 10lb 2oz. Natural birth, ouch. He was hospitalized for 4 weeks for broken collar bone and phrenic nurve paralysis (being stretched through the birth canal). He was a monster next to all the preemies. He is now 11 and 5'3 with a size 9 mens shoe!

DD1 5 pounds 2 oz
DD2 3 pounds 3 oz
DD3 4 pounds even

Lost a twin to DD2 due to prematurity. I am NOT a good pregnant woman at all. Very blessed to have my three girls who are now 19, 15 & 14. All are very petite. My 19 year old weighs 102 and is only 5'4". My youngest is 5'3" and weighs 85. She's tall, lanky and skinny. They eat like boys too. LOL. I'm scrawny too so I know where they get it from.

My two year old weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs 3 ounces and 23 3/8" long! His collar bone was broken and he broke my tail bone coming out! He now weighs around 32 lbs and is in the 75th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height. I tell the nurse "So you're saying he's short and fat" apparently they don't like my humor He's a very busy little guy though. We have another on the way due out at the end of July.

Seem like the weight of the child doesn't really mean anything for future height/weight of the child, however, it does correlelate to the mother. A mom with a child with a birth weight over 9 pounds significantly increases her chances of having diabetes later in life. My MIL had my dh, and he weighed 9lbs. 4oz., and she has diabetes now. They told her at the time she had him this might be the case, but she didn't really think she would get it. It doesn't run in their family.

My 1st was 8 lbs. 13 1/2 oz. Number two was the whopper at 9 lbs. 5 oz. , three weeks early. The last one was 7 lbs. 13 1/2 oz., two weeks early.

So far the middle one is the only one who is too big for her age. I keep hoping she outgrows it (gets taller), but who knows. Her doctor isn't concerned right now, so.....

Oh my goodness! Reading some of these weights! I've never had an epidural until the last one. I had one lousy shot and a spinal that all wore off before #2 was born. I had a 4th degree tear w/her and was SORE for weeks. I can't imagine giving birth to anything bigger than her. That's why I was induced w/#3, to make sure she didn't get too big and I had NO problems w/her. The epidural was awesome! By far my best/easiest labor and delivery.

My oldest was 6lbs 5oz at birth, she's nearly 16 and still weighs in under 100lbs!
Ds(10) was my biggest baby at 7lbs 14 ozs & 20 1/2 inches long! He's nearly 75lbs because he's VERY active in sports and has built up some muscle.
Youngest dd(6) was 6 lbs 10 oz at birth and weighed in around 40lbs at her last check up

#1 DS was 10 lbs. 4 oz. Can you say C-Section? After being induced & the nurse telling me I was not pushing hard enough...They had planned an 8lb. baby, I laughed & said see & you told me I wasn't pushing hard enough...he was way to big

#2 DS was 9lbs. we delivered him 2 weeks early by c-section Dr's were afraid to let me go to my due date... they thought he may be over 10lbs too I guess he would have been had we waited...

I wanted to do v-bac with #2, but my Dr. recommended a c-section, so I got scared & chickened out thinking that if something goes wrong it would be because of a decision I made to go v-bac.

Both DS are beautiful #1 is very tall & average weight, just a big boy!

#2 has been on the smaller side of the growth chart.

DS#1 was the biggest at 8 lbs. 3 oz. and two weeks early. He is now 6 1/2 and very tall (has always been over the 100% for height).
DS#2 was 4 days early and 6 lbs. 14 oz. He is now 3 1/2 and tall (around 75%) and thin.

8 lbs. 4 oz. was my biggest at birth. Mine kept getting bigger. My first was 6lbs. 4 oz. (a boy), my second, 7 lbs. 8 oz. (a girl) and of course the third child was the 8 lbs. 4 oz bundle of joy.
