hahahaha Great answer. My friend administers IQ tests and said that while the ones online are fairly accurate, they're much smaller (fewer questions). I signed up for a Mensa test and was told there is a pre-test you can purchase to better prepare yourself. I didn't take the test, because it was at 8 am in a city an hour away. Pfft I'm lucky if I'm awake before noon! lol If you've taken a test from an accredited institution (or whatever they're calling it), then you can present the documentation in lieu of testing. I've take one before, but don't know where the dr. is who performed the test. Long story, but when I went through a divorce both of us had to be mentally evaluated. When neither appeared crazy, they decided to see we were just plain dumb. My mother said, "So, if you're stupid you can't have your kids?" lol I'm happy to report that I scored higher (on every level) than my ex. |

The lady that I knew who took it scored high and then started going to all of these Mensa functions... She was recently divorced and started meeting all sorts of intellectual men who were absolute jerks... Luckily after a few years of this, she stepped back from attending the social functions and stopped telling everyone how high she scored. I guess it soothed her self-esteem at the time. ![]() ![]() |

That's my Mom! She has to throw in the fact that she has a PHd. to EVERYONE! SHe calls hersefl Dr.XXXXX on Ebay, signs her emails Dr. xxxx, everything and it is SO annoying. I used to have rebates sent to her and she got mad because they were addressed to Ms. XXXX and she actually called and wanted me to stop doing them unless they would have Dr. on them. The other day I was talking about DS's report card and it was good, a few not great, but generally good. She told me to tell his teacher that is grandmother and grandfather were both Mensa members and that she has a PHd. ? Come on, like I am going to tell her that, she doesn't care! I don't care! She has to rub it in everyone's face that she has a PHd. and that's why I didn't want to ask her about the test. She knows everything. I was wondering what kind of questions they are? Trivia? Mind bender type things?

I had my youngest dd IQ tested in fifth grade at a teachers recomendation. I was not able to be in the room with her, but she did tell me that it is mostly mind bender puzzles, etc. There are different portions that are given, ie, math, language skills, etc. Apparently you can miss three questions in each portion and keep going until the test is over or you miss your three in any giving area. Then they add up your scores in all areas and that is supposedly your IQ. Hope this help a bit. Check out the IQ tests on line, they are all similar. Clare |

My DH took the test long time ago and was invited to be a member of Mensa. Along with the invitation came a bill ($100 I think he said). He wrote them back, that by paying, it would prove that he is not as smart as they just said he was. He is not a member and is still smart.
