Will you buy something that you don't need...

...just because it is dirt cheap??? I find myself doing that sometimes. Are you able to think ahead to whether you have the storage space and/or the future need for something before you pursue a deal?

I use to do that all the time. Lately, I've really made myself justify buying something that was cheap if I didn't need it. I find myself leaving things behind more often, which has created less clutter at home, LOL!
I love to shop and love bargains and those can be a dangerous combination at times. I was giving a lot of what I bought away to friends, family, school, whatever. They were usually thrilled but I've learned to just walk away from what is not necessary.

Sometimes I will and if I REALLY don't need it, I'll sell it on Ebay.

Sometimes -- if I am able to anticipate the need. Like last week I bought a table & chair set at Target for 75% off. I don't need it *yet*, but DH is finishing a room in the basement for me and this table & chair set will be perfect for that room. I also buy some toys ahead for the many birthday parties my boys get invited too. I try not to buy too many, and only things I think my kids friends will like. Whatever is left over at the end of the year gets donated to a charity (like Toys for Tots or an Angel Tree) at Christmas time.

I've been a lot more limited in what I buy lately because even if it's a great price, we just don't need it.

I used to be a shopaholic as well. Like the other posters, though, I have really toned it down. I noticed half the clothes I bought my sons they did not like,..so now I stick to basics with them. I have seen many baby items that I would buy before and give out at baby showers. I do not work anymore so I am not invited to showers.

I only buy if I could use it later or can give it as gift to someone..There has been many times I have grab a item & walked around the store debating on weather to buy it or not..I think long and hard on it... 50 percent of the time I put it back onto the shelf Those sales really can get us caught up in the moment and regret it later

I used to until I came to my senses and realized that if I didn't need it, it wasn't a deal.

I have even cut way down on buying gifts months and months ahead of time. Especially for the kids, 6-12 months later who cares if it was only five bucks if they aren't interested in it. I do keep a couple of things tucked away to give to friends when they get invited to parties and let my kids "shop" from my stock.

At the thrift store I always buy kids clothes if they are in great condition, a good brand and a good price. But I have 8 kids so eventually it will fit someone!

I use to be really bad about it, but a couple of years ago a did a major de-clutter and most of what I got rid of where my good buys. That was my eye opener and I have been doing much better these days!

If it is a great price I cannot help but buy ALOT of it.
I will always find somewhere for it.
Since I buy for alot of different events it is hard for me not to shop all the time.
I am jsut thankful that I have the space for it.

I Found Myself Buying Stuff That Never Got Used So I Too Have Really Cut Back. If The Price Is Good And I Know I Will Use In The Near Future Then I Won't Pass Up. I Hate A Cluttered House So I Do Try And Throw Away The "old Item" If I Am Buying A Replacement For. I Try Not To Scope Target As Much As I Used To Because I Spent A Lot Of Wasted Dollars So Now I Try And Work More And That Saves Me A Bundle Lol

I used to but don't anymore. Like I used to stock up on end of season clearance sales for next years clothes for my kids. Last time I did it, the kids didn't grow at the expected rate and none of them fit So I had to buy all new and sell/donate what I had. I will buy a few generic baby items in case an a baby shower happens and I don't want to fork over money for diapers. Other than that, nope...if I don't need it it's just clutter that was cheap

I used to, until I realized that my family was shopping in my closets. I still like a bargain but it has to be something I can use soon or sell.

Will I buy something I don't NEED?

Egads, yes! I mean, I don't really need Yankee Candles, but I have one in every room. As a matter of fact, that reminds me. I think the one in the kitchen is burning a little low. Well, off to yankeecandle.com. Did you know they have free 2-day shipping right now?

You sound like me and Henri Bendel (Quince) Candels, I don't "need " them but I do have to have them

ROFLOL.....too funny.

I buy some things that I don't exactly NEED right away, but, I donate a lot of things, give lots to family and friends, and am usually ready for any gift giving occasion.

The other day, I just HAD to buy a set of Little Tykes skates and knee pads. They were marked down for $4.24 at Target, and we have lots of little kids in our family and friends circle, so......... someone will jsut love them, and I got them for a wonderful price. I will "weed" stuff out every so often so I don't get overwhelmed. I don't buy clothing too far in advance, since my kids growth spurts are unpredictable, not to mention, their styles change with the wind.

Who can pass up a great bargain??? Not me!!

We have a huge house (5000 sq ft) but I will not buy things I don't need just because it's cheap. No way in heck! I used to do that but it's such a waste. I refuse to clutter a closet, basement, etc... to contain things that will just get dusty over time.

I used to go wayyyy overboard but now I do try and control myself. Although I did just buy my son 12 pair of $4.98 Levis at Target. I got about half of them in the next waist size up, lets just hope he doesn't grow too tall before school starts next year. I used to get ALL my christmas at after chrstmas sales. Now that my kids are mostly teens and a lot more choosey, I get a few little gifts ahead of time but their big present I get right before Christmas, of course I still look for a deal! My kids tell each other "mom won't buy that, it is still at full price"

Yes I will. If it's free w/coupons I'll buy it and give it away to someone who can use it or I'll donate it.
