Somebody asked me for ideas for creative centerpieces for their family reunion, and so I was just trying to get some other ideas from you nice folks!! I guess they want to give the centerpieces to the older family members at the end! Any creative ideas out there?

My first thought was something with pictures of the various families/family members.

A theme could be found (i.e. - a plant with wood sticks coming out of it - with the pix glued to the sticks).

Maybe a circle of three frames in the center of each table, each frame with a family picture in it. Then the frames could be given away. You could have flowers or a plant or candle in the center of the frames.

With whatever you decide to go with as far as something floral or a bowl of fruit, pinecones, etc. I was thinking of the picture thing as well. What about taking some pictures, copies if you dont want to use the originals and taking some foam board and cutting out the pictures, like of people standing, the faces or whatever, maybe even past Christmas trees, and so on and cut those out, glue them to the foam board so they are sort of 3D looking? You could then attach a craft stick or something else so it could be placed into something, stuck into the floral arrangement or whatever. Just a thought. You could even do a paperdoll thing and use the actual picture faces for the dolls faces and it would go on the foamboard and make a little chain of your family members connected? Hard to explain but would look neat-o.
