DD ( 6th grade/ all advanced classes) has had high honors with 95% or higher averages all year...doesn't study...doesn't bring much homework home....drives me nuts because I always had to study...... DS is in 2nd grade and has all A's and Satisfactory on his report card..... doesn't get much homework, but does what he has without a fight...... |

I have a 12 yo ds who just got 1a 3c's and a d on his report card and has been an A/B student before this year. He really likes sports and girls better than school now, and a dd who is 8 and has straight A's. We just pulled out the big guns and told ds if he got all A's & B's on the next report card we would give him 100 dollars hopefully that will make him focus more on school again!

I have one in 6th grade whos getting A B & C'S she works super hard to get these grades always has I think she struggles more but is smart she is more like me I was the same way in school then my kindegartener 6yrs old everything comes easy to her she is reading & knows about everything I think knows her numbers up to 1000 I think she takes after her dad. HE just graduated from electronic engineering one year ago with all A's. I am quite sure he never studied for his classes. AND THEN thier is my youngest just turned 3 & tommorrow is her 3rd day of preschool. I think she is doing good she knows her colors & likes reading, I think having 2 older sisters has helped her along so far so we will see how she does. Overall I am satisfied with how the oldest 2 are doing one just has to work harder & one everything comes easy too. I think its just natural stuff thats how some kids are some have to work hard & some have things come easy to them. And as for my youngest I am happy with her progress thus far.

My son started the year out rough (he has Aspergers). We tinkered with his medication, added one, and the results are amazing! He is in 4th grade, and made honor roll for the first time with a 3.0. He got to attend the honor roll ice cream party. Plus, he is just a book - possibly 2 - away from meeting his AR reading goal. If he meets that goal, or WHEN he meets that goal, he will be able to attend the AR pizza party. I am so proud of him! Since we finally got the behavior thing in check, we have been focusing on academics. And it is showing! I tell him daily how proud I am of him, doing his homework, and completing his reading. |

My 8 year old son started out pretty well but his grades have been falling... bringing home more and more notes about wasting so much time and not doing his work in class. So today was his first day back on Concerta. Daughter, almost 6, surprises me all the time with what she is learning. This is her teacher's first year teaching, but fortunately my daughter doesn't seem to *need* a more experienced teacher like my son did. We just started her on DDAVP, I know wetting the bed isn't abnormal but ~5 nights a week is, if you ask me. It's also very tiring. Hasn't wet the bed since starting the medication, but hasn't been on it long and a week or two before starting it she didn't wet very often either. She also woke up very easily this morning! Usually groggy and b*tchy in the morning just like her mother And can't leave out my baby... straight A's in Cute and Cuddly |

My oldest is in 2nd grade and made all A honor roll once again...(since he started school) He was just in the paper this past week for A honor roll!! I guess the schools here have 2 kinds of honor roll...ALL A honor roll and Honor Roll, He made all A. Its funny when he brings home all his papers at the end of the week for me to look over and sign, I'm SOOO used to seeing 95%-100% that is I see anything in the 80% its shocking!! Ds thought I'd be mad when I saw a 89%...I told him AS LONG as it was over 80's I was VERY happy... My youngest is in Kindergarten and he's been doing suprisingly well!! He's very smart, maybe smarter than older brother but he just wont settle down, so hyper!! They dont do honor roll in K and grades are only for a couple things...But he did wind up with 2 A's and a B.....HE WILL PASS K!!! I honestly knew he was smart but also knew he has a bit of trouble sitting still and following directions and was all ready for him to have to repeat K...(he was JUST turned 5 when he went in...) But he will make it through!! I'm so proud of them!!! |

Kids are all different. My ds (the oldest) never had to study until college. He is a surigical nurse. My second son is also bright but did not like college. He is in the computer business. He is 26 and makes $55,000 a year. My dd has a learning disability, ADD, wore glasses at 4 and several surgeries for her ears. But this past Dec. she graduated from college. So even the ones that struggle can do well if they want to.

Both of my girls that are in school are A/B honor role.....My littlest DD is homeschooling and she also has a tutor and the tutor says she is dead on where she is supposed to be so that good. Each of my kids are different.. My oldest DD is the most "book smart" but she will really struggle if something doesn't come right away to her...just tonight we had a battle over math homework. Middle DD doesn't get things right away but she will do it until she gets it and doesn't need me to sit and explain it five hundred times. Little DD is the baby so you can imagine that she likes to see what she can get away with so I have to stay on her! Our oldest is a cryer when she doesn't get it right away....do any of you guys have that kind of kid. |

Ok I have one who is a straight A student. My middle son who has Aspergers is not doing very well...He is so so smart but sees no point in doing school work. My youngest still gets + and - but if I can brag she gets all +++ hehehe. Her teacher stopped me in the hall and told me what an angel I have and wondered if she was always so sweet at home. Of course she is. This was all after my meeting with the school for my middle son and I felt terrible. Really my middle son is great he is just not a student. I can live with that A's or F's I'm still gonna love them all.

My 16yr old DD (11th grade) is a good student--3.25 gpa. BUT she has to work super super hard to maintain that gpa. My 14 yr old 8th grader is a 4.0 and always has been (lowest grade he ever got on a report card was a B+ and he cried when he saw that), and he doesn't at all have to work too hard to get that. Maybe H.S. will tax him more. But, we don't compare the two because my DD is very artistic and that is where her bent is and where she will most likely concentrate after H.S. DS is very hard on himself---we do not push either about their grades but he does so to himself. Luckily for our kids, the ONLY teacher they have ever had in common so far has been in Kindergarten. Also, they are 3 years apart, so they have not even been in the same school for the last 5 (this year will be the 6th) years and will only be in the same HS for one year (his Freshman year and her Seniro). Think that makes it easier on both of them.

Yes. My two middle girls. They are only 11 months apart in age, one in second grade, one in third. They both read at the same level...which is at grade level or slightly above for the third grader and obviously a grade ahead for the second grader. They both struggled with learning to read though so we are proud of both of them and they are pleased with themselves. Older doesn't seem to mind that her sister reads as well as she does. |
