Today a guy that my husband works with lost his house today. We are in central IL and had a severe snow storm blizzard warnings until midnight tonight. His wife called him at work today to let him know the house was on fire. To make matters worse the fire turcks could not get through due to the snow and the families house burnt to the ground. It is so sad, I feel so bad for this family.

That is terriable..I can't even imagine losing everything I own.. I will keep your dh co-workers in my prayers.. Hopefully the commintuy will be able to step in and help this family get back on their feet.

Hopefully everyone got out, including pets. It is sad to have this happen and the frustration for the family and the fire dept.

that is terrible i remember when i was in 5th grade my house burned down to the ground our 1st day back to school after christmas all we had was the clothes on our backs.

I could not even imagine that happening, those poor people. My family has been on the fire department since before I was born and it really doens't take much, sorry to say. Anything can start it, from an extension cord ( we had a family in town lose everything because of a bad extension cord plugged into a diesel truck) to a dryer, it doesn't always take a match or a fireplace.
